- Joffrey obviously doesn't really like girls. He's not gay, but he's also not attracted to women (too weak) and that's what's probably helped turn him into the useless monster that he is. No matter though as it's quite apparent everyone around him doesn't give two shits about him and are simply using him to further their own ends. Like Tyrion said: he's as stupid as he is vicious.
- The torture scenes with Theon are beyond boring now. They've tortured the living shit out of him and inferred the last episode that they've cut his cock off, but there is still no revelations as to who's torturing him and why. They have one more episode to put some fucking context in place or I'm gonna start skipping his scenes altogether. Yeah...they're torturing him...so what? We get nothing from his continuing story and I'm guessing it's only still in the show to keep those ghoulish idiots who like the Saw films entertained.
- Lastly...every single person in Westeros vying for power is utterly undeserving of it. The only person that deserves it - and frankly the only person who's interesting enough to have it - is Daenerys Targaryen. I'm at the point where I want nearly everyone in Westeros to be wiped out by her, and all in truly horrible ways.

Maybe he is gay. How many politicians have we seen demonize and try to make strict laws against homosexuals, only to turn out being gay themselves. Martin also seems to write gays to be very particular in their fashion taste.
The guy torturing him is doing it simply out of love for torturing people, just because he can.
I was sad to see Ned go, but Robb is losing my favor. Daeny is a current favorite of mine as well, but I'm also enjoying the Bran storyline if it keeps going deeper into the warg stuff.
my fav. characters right now are jamie and brienne; and i'm looking forward to see where the story around arya goes. i hope she'll finally pick her sword up again some time soon.
and yeah... the scenes with theon just bore me. but they allready did in season 2. he's just too much of a twat.
A clarification: when I said that I wanted Daenerys Targaryen to wipe out nearly everyone in Westeros, I meant only those vying for power and their stupid, petty personal soap operas.
It's actually a nice contrast of her story against the pampered "nobleborn" assholes complaining about the size of their slice of the pie, who's gonna have to fuck whom to keep power in the fambly and having to endure the "horrible notion" of living privledged lives in a time of abject human poverty, all while Daenerys goes through hell and actual abject poverty with a singular focused goal of the (supposed) rightful heir retaking the throne, freeing the slaves & the everyman and finally wiping away the shit-stain of the squabbling and pathetic "noble houses". I have no idea if that's the main thrust of the overall story in the books, but Daenerys is where I bet my money when the dust settles...especially with the dragons in her corner.
No shit. Joffrey is a cunt, Stannis is a bit full of himself and kind of deranged, Renly is dead and Robb has his thumbs up his ass. No one rooting for Mance though?
We haven't seen a lot of Mance... not sure what to make of him yet.
PS enjoyed the hell out of yesterday's episode again, yay Except the Theon torture scenes naturally, they really need to do something about that quick.

The way I see it, the scenes were written in a way (in not revealing who/why) to have the audience somewhat share in Theon's torture and confusion...or sumthin. I get it and it can be effective.
It's only effective up to a point, however and there comes a time when you must move on or your audience gives up from fatigue and frustration. It seems like everyone is at that point now.
There are hints in the scene as to where he is, but it is being done quite subtly.
Book readers got it immediately, even though it appears out of sequence, but it looks like confusion amongst people who have only ever seen the TV series is universal.
so what you're saying is, the people who have read the books and therefore know the story understand it, but the people who havent and therefore don't know the story yet don't?
I think I know who's behind it, but only by pure luck after going back to season 2 after last weeks ep. After seeing it again something else smacked me in the face because I knew who I was supposed to be watching instead. Dunno who creepy fucker is or why the fuck though.
I loved the scene this week and Joff getting the offer of being carried up the stairs

news at 11.
What I think he means is that those who read books 2 and 3 know where he is, even though the Theon bits you're seeing in the series are from book 4. I have a clear idea where he is, although I have no confirmation because I haven't read book 4 (yet).
meh, you could figure it out... but you'd have to be Super Geek and sit around memorizing various peoples' sigils etc.
edit: it also doesn't fucking matter. some assface is torturing theon. it's boring. nobody gives a shit because he's clearly a useless fuckup and it's just a matter of time before someone ends him, so dragging it out is just a waste of screen time that could be spent on any of the half dozen stories that are actually engaging.

When this series ends, will it be up to date with the books ?. It's slow enough without having to wait an age between seasons
No. They've dropped the idea of 1 season = 1 book. Since events in book 3 and 4 largely take place simultaneously, you're seeing mostly events from book 3 but also some from book 4. At the end of this season, they're most likely halfway through book 3.
