A bit of an obscure one this, but I picked it up about a year ago and it's a fantastic point & click game, made by a single guy, set in a Blade Runner-style universe. It's finally been released on Steam. It's intentionally retro, but the art style suits the mood. It's a really good game, with a decent story/characters and fans of old point & click games should definitely pick this up, especially since it's only £6 and will run on even the most decrepit computer rig.

Yeah, these kind of games can't be judged by a demo, simply because the story is so important. It's not a game for everyone and the graphics in particular will put a lot of people off, but it was a big surprise for me when I first played it, especially since i'm a Blade Runner/cyberpunk fanboy.
This is a fucking great game, well worth the price of admission. You can finish it within a few hours and it's not nearly as inane/random as old school point and click games. Recommended
speaking of indie games on Steam, anyone played Lucius? it's a horror game except with the twist that you yourself are the horror: a 10 year Hitler lookalike who runs around a mansion finding bizarre ways of offing the people in it. also includes what i think must be a first in any videogame: a 'tidy your room' mission
