Anyone want DOTA 2 keys?
Re: Anyone want DOTA 2 keys?
No kidding, they're flooding everyone's Steam inventory with the things. Got 5 more today.
Re: Anyone want DOTA 2 keys?
How are you guys getting these keys?
I have a spare Portal2 key if anyone wants it.

I'll take one.
Re: Anyone want DOTA 2 keys?
Valve just tosses them in your Steam inventory...thing. Randomly. I've only played 1 or 2 games in it and I currently have 7 invites.obsidian wrote:How are you guys getting these keys?
That said, post your Steam names if you actually want them. :P

Dota 2 is a great game but it's a fucking time vampire. Put 1000 hours into it and found I was just taking it too seriously. I could only play 3-4 heroes decently, and barely carry.

I also have seven, i think most people interested in this game already have keys and everyone else thinks it either looks stupid or recognise the depth and can't afford the time.

Isn't this a fucking ancient warcraft 3 map? I remember playing this map back in WC3 beta like 10 years ago. They made it into a mod eh? Nifty...

Re: Anyone want DOTA 2 keys?
man check out "purge plays" on Youtube. There is so much depth it is fucking unreal. Serious commitment.Deathshroud wrote:Ok, someone needs to teach me how to play. It ain't easy.

I watched a few of his vids, and am getting a little better. This is starting to remind me of Starcraft in terms of competitiveness and learning curve. One thing I definitely need to learn are the different phases of the game. I generally stay in one lane for quite a while, and never really get a good chance to gank anyone. I'm just not sure when is a good time to leave my lane and attempt to kill the opposing players.feedback wrote:man check out "purge plays" on Youtube. There is so much depth it is fucking unreal. I'd like a key; currently playing League of Legends and loving it. Wanne see what Dota 2 is like.
Re: Anyone want DOTA 2 keys?
The answer to this question depends first who you are playing (a ganker, a carry, an init, a support, etc) and second how are you playing. This is the most difficult phase of learning, when you see that the dynamic of the game will determine item choices and team strategy. It seems obvious but in a game where there are generally only considered 1-3 viable builds per hero, people tend to get stuck in a routine of acting a certain way or always using a certain build and then not figuring out why they're playing terribly suddenly. It isn't that they play inconsistently, it's because the game they're in or sometimes the metagame (with new heroes) has changed but they haven't adapted to those changes yet. At any decent level you can no longer play your game in a vacuum, you need to consider the heroes, strategies, and items chosen by the other team in order to counter their advantage. Because of this, there are no absolutes of when you should farm, gank, or push.Deathshroud wrote: I watched a few of his vids, and am getting a little better. These are all good videos to watch- you won't notice a lot of the thing he mentions even after a hundred hours or so:
