Pebble

Did anyone else buy into this nonsense?

http://getpebble.com/

I got lured in during the kickstarter campaign and singed up and finally about a year later I received my watch this morning. It does what it's supposed to and looks good but within 5 minutes I decided to put it up on eBay.

I think the hype and wait basically made it out to fail for me. I am totally baffled at why I though having notifications for calls and emails on my wrist was going to be that amazing? The watch itself is big and goofy looking even on my large wrists. Is anyone using the Pebble, doe you like it or are you experiencing buyers remorse? If you need to ditch it now's the time you can still turn a profit even on used pebbles.

On the good side I paid $150 for it and was able to sell it for $250 within and hour of opening the box WIN!

Never understood the appeal of this? It's displaying a li ited subset of information that's available on my phone, isn't it? What's the use of of that when I can, you know, look at my phone instead?

the same reason the wristwatch replaced the pocketwatch.
seeing how most people now use their phone to tell time instead of a wristwatch, this thing can give the same convience as a wristwatch over a pocketwatch, plus show the other info your phone lockscreen shows.

so yea, not really that hard to imagine. easy if you try ey.

I think the idea of connectivity between your phone and your watch is great & pretty cool - but i'm entirely unconvinced by the pebble's tech and looks. I'm betting there will be something better on the market soon.

I liked the palm phone in the Total Recall remake. I'll get me one of those

note: That's the only thing I liked about that film

yeah, I don't know how I feel about that. it just looked gimmicky, and interfacing something like that in your hand, is prolly gonna really fuck with the feel and use of..your hand. Something that interfaces directly to my visual and auditory cortex , is going to be some proper 'next level' shit
