agreed. It was a serviceable superhero/summer action movie. It will neither inspire nor offend.
The CGI set pieces started putting me to sleep after just a few minutes. I get so overloaded by falling buildings and glass effects that were cool when used once in the Matrix 10 years ago that I just shut down.
I liked it.
Nice to see a Superman movie with real action. Lois Lane sucked...and that guy from law and order...the way they made it into all those scenes was ridiculous. The special effects and action sequences carried the movie.
similar experience to me, although we sat in the middle. the sound was so loud i spent the last half of the exposition with my hands over my ears. got free tickets for world war z, power to the people.
fucking lol. and then when that leaks into the other room, they raise their volume, and then they'll have to compensate for the compensation of the comp...
sounds like a moronically constructed / managed theater space. time to find a new location.
Just got home from seeing the huge screen Imax version. Good entertaining movie, really spectacular visuals all the way through, and excellent sound system, the loudest (REALLY loud) and most thumping bass I've experienced at the cinema. Very good choice for superman too. But there was little to no humour in it which I think is it's biggest let down, and overall I didn't enjoy it as much as some of the previous superman movies. I thought the actress playing Lois was a crappy choice, and likewise with the boss of the daily planet. Definitely worth seeing but I can understand why rotten tomatoes only gave it an average rating. There's so many movies these days with the same special effects, sound effects, explosions, fights, that I don't think man of steel is set apart from them.
Whatev trev, failed to achieve ?, you saying it's under rated ?
Both had no story and 0 character development but filled with action scenes and CGI with sprinkles of nostalgia to please our childish minds. When people look back on both films I think Transformers will be seen as the bigger success for the sole reason of having fighting robots from space. Man of Steel will go down as just another rebooted series imo, some of the action scenes was daft as fuck.

its intentions are underrated imo. It wasn't meant to be a homoerotic testosterone shitfest like the transformers were very clearly trying to be. Man of Steel wanted to be taken seriously, it just didn't really know how to do it....fell short.
and if you think 'fighting robots' is a talking point, maybe you're not even in the position to appreciate my pov. on the two films.
