Anderson Silva
Re: Anderson Silva
meh, just my two cents.
and I'm not even a hater... always looked forward to his fights, and respect him as a fighter. Even his mocking antics didn't bother me, I saw them as another skill-set he was capable of using very well in the past, as he usually favors counter-attacking. I really don't understand wtf was going on yesterday.
I think it took him off his cool when he got taken down so easily and almost gave up a submission so early in the fight.

Re: Anderson Silva
I don't understand it either. He got taken down for 5 consecutive rounds in the first Sonnen fight and he didn't decide to go into full blown retard mode. I just hope there's a rematch and he takes it seriously.

Re: Anderson Silva
The Anderson Silva that fought last night was overly careless. We've all seen him taunt opponents, but this went well past the norm. I think he went into this match not caring if he won or lost. Especially since he pretty much retired in his post fight interview.
Re: Anderson Silva
there are better ways to gracefully exit the sport. He could just have won, then give his little speech and walk away like a champ...

Re: Anderson Silva
Sure sure... But would that have generated as much publicity? I'm not saying that Silva threw the match or did his little dance to defeat for publicity. However, you can't look past how odd he conducted himself in this match. It could be as simple as he was no longer interested in competing in the UFC and took the easy way out.Tsakali wrote:there are better ways to gracefully exit the sport. Re: Anderson Silva
would be a shame... after all these years of superb presence in the sport.

Re: Anderson Silva
It is a shame, no matter what the motivation. I think he lost a lot of respect from his fans and the industry for how he conducted himself.

In the world of YourGrandpa, saying you have 10 fights left on your contract = pretty much retiring.YourGrandpa wrote:The Anderson Silva that fought last night was overly careless. Agreed. I want to see Cub v Frankie now but I'd have a hard time figuring out who to cheer for. Love em both.LawL wrote:Taking the prelims also into account, was one of the best cards in years.

What would you do if you wanted out of your contract? Other than suck a cock.LawL wrote:In the world of YourGrandpa, saying you have 10 fights left on your contract = pretty much retiring.YourGrandpa wrote:The Anderson Silva that fought last night was overly careless. Re: Anderson Silva
Losing a fight doesn't give a fighter the right to void a contract. Not to mention the fact that Rogan specifically asked him if he was going to retire to which he replied "No, no. I have 10 fights left". You're an imbecile.YourGrandpa wrote:What would you do if you wanted out of your contract? Other than suck a cock.

Re: Anderson Silva
So practically throwing the fight, saying he wants to spend more time with his family and teaching his students completely nullifies the idea that he no longer wants to compete in the UFC. Never mind the fact that he's 38 and has acknowledged that he's experiencing increasing difficultly competing. You're in denial.
Re: Anderson Silva
That was his answer to why he said he wasn't going to pursue the title any more dipshit. When specifically asked about retirement he said, once again: "No, no. I have 10 fights left". That should be blatant enough even for a moron of your magnitude to comprehend.

Re: Anderson Silva
The real reason Silva lost is because he's simply not as athletic or fit as YourGoutPa.

Re: Anderson Silva
Rogan and Anderson had a conversation witnessed by hundreds of thousands that completely contradicts what you're trying to say. I don't think I'm the one in denial. You should probably get Cruella to shoot you in the face.

The worst part of this, from the fan's perspective, is that we're likely to never see a Silva vs GSP match...

Re: Anderson Silva
That was never going to happen anyway because GSP is scared and has been making excuses for a few years now. But Anderson vs Jones was likely to happen and that's a fight we won't see now.xer0s wrote:The worst part of this, from the fan's perspective, is that we're likely to never see a Silva vs GSP match...

Actions speak louder than words, homo. If Anderson told Rogan he was going to take over the world would you believe him? BTW, you're always looking to getting "shot" in the face. LOL!LawL wrote:Rogan and Anderson had a conversation witnessed by hundreds of thousands that completely contradicts what you're trying to say. I don't think I'm the one in denial. Re: Anderson Silva
The only action implying retirement would be to never fight again, but considering he fought less than 24 hours ago that action obviously doesn't exist. What we do have though is a statement from him completely contradicting your stupid belief. No I wouldn't believe Anderson if he said he was going to take over the world. But I do believe he will continue to fight when he states in an interview that he is not retiring and has 10 fights to go after recently re-signing a 10 fight contract with the UFC. Maybe you can't differentiate between the two scenarios.YourGrandpa wrote:Actions speak louder than words, homo. If Anderson told Rogan he was going to take over the world would you believe him? Also there's no need to include homosexual innuendo in every post you make, no matter how much you are missing your father.
