Only read two of Hemingway's novels (Bells, Sun Rises), they were good.

Why!?

I read a Chris Hedges book the other day. Pretty grim shit but still interesting. Also a couple of Richard Feynman's (QED and Surely you're Joking, Mr. Feynman!).. He is quite a character! Check 'im out.

Prof. Feynman, the guy who helped build the atomic bomb while tripping on acid in an isolation chamber with a stripper. Dude is pimp!

Beethoven. Recently, I've been listening to all nine of his symphonies on loop.

It's quite good. Don't know why necromancy always gets such a bad rap.

Just finished Half Life 2 (again).
I took like 30 hours, having a good look around so I really have to say Gordon Freeman is my (current) hero :D

Ernst Junger is a badass motherfucker. This was a very clever dude, with a gigantic set of testicles. Behold:

At age 18 instead of exhibiting normal teenage rebellious behaviour, this dude simply ran away from home to join the French Foreign Legion, and did some fighting in Africa. Then the first world war broke out, so he reported for duty like a good loyal citizen and was immediately sent to the trenches at the Western Front. He excelled at killing and not getting killed, mainly due to his enormous ballsack, but even that didn't stop him from getting a little bit shot.

During his sick leave he decided to apply for officer training, because fuck all that running behind some dude who tells you where to go, better to have some other dudes simply follow you. Then he went straight back to the front where he proceeded to kick more English and French ass like he just didn't care. He fought at all the famous places, Passchendaele, Ypres, Verdun... and during his service he wrote some new chapters in the German field manual for infantry manouvres he thought up. Near the end of the war he became a storm troop officer, which was an outfit made up of crazy dudes who'd go totally mental with handgranades and ignore little things like machine gun emplacements. His final action was the one that almost won the war for Germany in 1918. During his service he won the Iron Cross twice, first and second class - and he was one of the very few dudes alive at the end of the war to accept the Pour la Merite, the highest distinction the German army had to offer.

After the war he wrote In Stahgewittern, by far the best book about the first world war ever written, which made him instantly famous. To pass the time in the interbellum he studied marine biology, zoology, botany, and philosophy, and became a well-known entomologist. Because why the fuck not. When the nazi's came to power and started dissing ww1 jewish veterans he wasn't cool with that at all, and he distanced himself from the regime through his writings. His fierce nationalism was often confused for sympathy for the nazi's, even by the nazi's themselves, but he was always careful to not get mixed up in their stupid shit too much.

When he was called up in ww2 he sat the whole thing out in Paris, chilling with famous dudes like Picasso and a lot of the officers involved in the Stauffenberg bomb plot. After the war he discovered dope, and frequently smoked hash, snorted cocaine and all kinds of other stuff. He met several times with the dude who invented LSD and they became tripping buddies. Then he wrote more books about his drug experiences, because a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

His 100th birthday was celebrated with heads of state like Helmut Kohl and Mitterand. He finally died age 102, having lived life the the fullest.

Could be, he got married to a blonde chick and had two kids, but that's what most gays did before it went out of fashion to stone people to death if they preferred penis. There's a certain homo eroticism in his war book in any case, lots of 'real manly' this and 'like a real man' that. Who knows eh.

Steve Peat seems to be the typical monster, speaks humbly but rides like a mad man! crazy crushing downhill on carbon.

I watched ALBAN LAKATA wipe the Leadville race series records this year, such a beast!

Yeager is a bad ass... Same about that Gordon fellow. And the pig! No goggles! Fucking showoff, he is, probably eats babies in his off time. Looking for a reasonable bio on Prof. Feynman, and Carmack is a legend, but would he not be a legend without Romero (arrogance complemented by work ethic!)?
