You may want to swap some game time for some potential dame time...

well, maybe your friend is thinking that you should be spending your time socializing instead of being locked away playing a v-game.

from that point of view, I would have to agree... like xeros said... you might want to do a little bit of both.

I don't do badly as it goes, I just haven't found anyone to "settle down" with yet.
And if you hadn't noticed, I did I say I had plenty planned so I'm hardly a social recluse :)

But thank you for your concern ;)

Hey Don Carlos.
Just read the HL2 bit. I just ran though it myself and found this guide helpful, not that you'd need it.

As to recommendations, a clean out of cupboards or go through your memorabilia I find most satisfying :D

Oh, I read game recommendations :smirk: Ever tried a fight simulator? I might give one a go after Episodes 1 & 2 (taking my time on 'em)

you're off for 3 weeks and that's the most epic thing you can come up with? Don't take this harshly--it sounds like your work pal is a bit of a dick--but how old are you, Don? In all seriousness, are there absolutely no higher achievements that you will doubtless be too old to attempt at some point, and would this not be the right time to seriously pursue, if not accomplish them? What about hiking a 14,000'+ (4500 m) peak, hang gliding / base jumping / wing suiting, or just mangling your body and mind on an insane bike ride through scenic European boroughs, or learning to play the guitar (/better), another language, or achieving some kind of industry certification that may land you a sweet gig or some better coin?
Again, don't take what I say with any weight. After all, you said it yourself, this place is a mere sliver of the universe, where video games mean quite a bit to most of the lads here. Actually kind of envy my bros who can find time in their lives for them, tbh, so maybe I'm the sucker for sacrificing that from MY life...

I'm a little confused by this post to be honest. I've given you none of my other plans for these 3 weeks other than yesterday's run through of what I had done and what I was going to do after I had chilled out and watched the football.

My point was I consider game playing no different to film or TV watching but other people still do.

I would take a few days to veg and recoupe from work. Then travel. By the end of week 3 you're going to regret pissing away all that time around home.

It's true Donny! Unless you're broke, you should get out and go somewhere. You're single and free loving. Go out and do shit while you're not tethered down. You can always stay at home and play video games when you've got a nagging wife and screaming kids...

It's not really different from watching a film or watching TV, but I know people who think it's not worth paying to see a film and don't watch TV cause they are busy doing other things.

Edit: One big difference with videogames is you could win a cash prize tournament playing a videogame, but not for watching a film or TV :sly:

I mean you could potentially get more out of playing a videogame than watching something, cause you are actually doing something; you could win money! You could become a GT driver via GT Academy!
