Bill Gates back to Microsoft?

So there are more and more "rumours" going around that Big Bill is going to steer the company forward for a few months while they decide who the new Ballmer is going to be.

I think it would be a good thing and I think he would make a difference. It would be interesting to see how he would change the direction of the company. I'd like to see him back.

Does anyone else think this will happen? Would anyone like to see this happen?

Bill Gates is far better off as a philanthropist than being back at Microsoft, both for himself and for the organizations he would represent. He won't be back at Microsoft other than his current role of chairman of the board.

Ballmer is an idiot who has led the company nowhere, though. He's behind the performance ranking system which has caused most of their talent to flee.
