That's not mine, still being built and mines purple... The post is a dropper post. Push and button and drop the seat by 125mm so its not in the way when in the air or down something steep.

Looks OK. No bash guard though? The frame is a bit odd looking, near the seat. I assume you do mostly XC though. I would be apprehensive of doing any real DH with that frame. The gussets look strong though, which is nice. Cool ride

Two month wait on purple, fuck that. Neon orange it is.

Its not DH, but you can rig it for all mountain. I've got 150mm 34s up front and 140mm rear. We mostly ride XC but there's now a few parks popping up with double black runs which this build will smash.

Your rear shock might be a bit lacking for some good DH fun. Is it a 4 or 5" air? I've never liked those for some reason. They seem to respond too slow for really gnarly fucking trails and your rear end just gets caught up. Then again I haven't ridden DH in probably ten years so perhaps the tech is better. Damn I miss that stuff.. Really gotta buy me a ride someday soon! Used to have a Giant XTC AC2 back in the day.

You're right, its more an AM/trail 140mm. It can be swapped out for a spring but for the amount of DH I do any more than a few runs I'd use a DH rig.

Snapped my last one I bought last year and returned for a refund. still have a 2009 Scott which has never missed a beat, but I want something made in England and more enduro focused for races.

We talking about kids or bikes here?

Yeah DH can be very dangerous. I've seen guys get pretty fucked up here on the North Shore. Concussion, broken limbs, etc. Mostly from falling off ladder/frame rides that are 20ft in the air heh.

Snapped a frame? Feck. I've only ever cracked one. Lucky you didn't impale yourself.

That's a good amount to spend on a hobby. Hope that you put it to good use and that you're happy with your purchase :)
