Those stupid dishes are an eyesore and scream "look at me I'm too poor to afford cable."

If you can, get AT&T Uverse. I have DirecTV only because Uverse isn't available. But DirecTV is way better than Dish...

It's slow and tv uses the bandwidth...

Anything under 50mb/s is unacceptable...

from what I remember direct is wayyyy better

dish has ssssoooooo much compression it was unwatchable, also it appears they did some channels in 320x240 to reduce bandwidth even more lol

cable has to much compression too

just get an antenna for over the air magor network watching , awesome quality and fast channel switching.

really tho just download everything tv
it is about time!

Oh hey, another bored housewife thread.

What's next? A thread asking "Which is the better detergent"?

I've had DirecTV for 20+ years now, along with the local cable provider for internet/TV. DirecTV (like any dish) doesn't perform well in heavy rain storms. But compared to cable TV, DirecTV is just as reliable. The cable also goes out in heavy storms, when nothing is going on and is useless in extended power outages. I live in a hurricane state and my dish didn't budge during the hurricane. The reason I was able to watch TV during the power outages was because my signal didn't rely on multiple substation powered by the local utility.

Dish is cheaper. DirecTV is better. You decide.

Dishes are obviously more appropriate for Geoff. :olo:
Thick, solid and tight in all the right places.
