Yeah..... That's.... something. I'm really not sure what to make of it... I kinda like the button placement. I don't like the idea of a touchpad intead of an analogue stick though.

It'll always be better until you want to sit down on your couch with friends to have a friendly game of something. Then it's a pain in the ass.

It actually sounds pretty amazing if it delivers what they promise and feels right. I applaud them for actually innovating in the controller space.

I don't see how that button placement is a good thing. How easy is it to reach the X and Y buttons with your right thumb like we're all used to? Or do we start using our left thumb, thus taking our hand off the left analog stick?

Well in most shooters going over to push a button for an action has always irritated me cause you can't use the right analogue while pushing buttons. This makes it difficult in racing games for example to pound the nitro while looking behind you, or switching gears when you're using a clutch. I can see some benefit to dividing the tasks to two thumbs instead of one. It's those touchpads that get me though...

I've done enough gaming on my android to know touch screens are great and all and so is haptic feedback but eventually your fingers stray from their intended location causing unintended direction presses.

Halo 1 and 2 appear as the top 5 best selling games of all time, the 1st being Halo 1. http://vgsales.wikia.com/wiki/Best_sell ... n_shooters

So I'm guessing a lot of "idiots" play. Not that we'll be playing on this, but hey I'm sure this will do wonders for HL3 sales assuming people buy it.

It has four shoulder triggers and two rear triggers and each trackpad is also a button.

So they're going to remap controls that were usually assigned to X and Y to buttons at the rear of the controller? That won't take too long to re-learn...

controller seems very promising, imo. I imagine that aiming with a trackpad is going to be faster and more accurate than aiming with an analog stick. Not sure about character movement though.
This line only remake is total rubbish I've ever seen!!! Fuck off!!! --CZghost

This is one of those things where I think it needs to be tried to see how good it really is and to see if it really works

I can;t really see this dragging away console gamers if they already need a PC and it comes down to how it's implemented I guess, I wouldn't like steam handling everything. Trying to get some games/mods to run in tandem can be a nightmare even when you do purchase through steam. In some aspects it's still a joke that I wanna burn down sometimes.

Main benefits I see is streaming directly from PC to TV, which can be done already with a HDMI cable provided PC and TV are in the same room. Can't see it making a world of difference like and removes any incentive to dev for linux, which kinda makes me think the whole endeavor is a little pointless :/
