Re: Post your pets.
Of all the dogs me and my family has had since I was a little kid, we never did that technique. Ever.
We trained our puppies not to piss and shit on the floor by using a firm tone of voice whenever they did a nasty. My dad occasionally would rub their noses in their mess (I'd never do that) and admonish the dog but we'd never cage it or hit it in any way and eventually every one of them learned to do their business outside.
I guess locking a puppy in a cage so it can't dump is one way to control it and train it, but that would mean putting it in a cage. That's not treating your dog as a family member, it's treating your dog like property.
lol...I'll never forget how guilty our cat looked when we go home and noticed it knocked the christmas tree over...it sat at the front door, waiting to get yelled at for the mess it made...looking all guilty as hell. Animals indeed know when they've done something wrong and pissed you off.

This is Turk after surgery...

From what the Vet has theorized, Turk suffered a trauma to his right femoral neck as a very young puppy. That trauma restricted the blood flow to the femoral head and caused the femoral head to develop abnormally. The abnormal development of the femoral head caused the hip socket to develop abnormally around the femoral head. The malformed hip bones were not only painful, but they caused Turk to modify his gate while walking/running. It is further theorized that because of Turk's modified walking/running his knee did not develop correctly or was being abnormally stressed. The abnormal stress of the knee ultimately resulted in a dislocated patella. The end result was an FHO surgery to eliminate the pain in his hip and a patellar grove prosthesis surgically implanted to restore painless/normal operation of his knee.
He is nearly 2 months into a normal 6 month recovery and he is doing great. It won't be long until he is running around like a crazy puppy would.

If you don't have a pet you don't really have a reason to post. Posting nonsense detracts from the context of the conversation. You're posting nonsense in this thread and complaining about nonsense in another. Draw the line between point A and point B. It's pretty straight and hypocritical.

You do love the sound of your own voice, I thought he mentioned a page back about training his own pets ?.YourGrandpa wrote:Drunk and stoned? I don't see the merit in cage training either. Say what you want about the benefits, there's plenty of criticism and you're using it for something that's usually corrected in other ways. So why ?.

So you do or don't have a pet? You have or never had a pet? The thread title is pretty specific. "Post your pet". You haven't posted a pet. You've instead been particularly belligerent and nonsensical. Unbelievable ironically describes your behavior in this thread after all the crying you did in the other.GONNAFISTYA wrote:Unbelievable.

No. I don't currently have a pet. I've had about 5 dogs and 5 cats in my lifetime and I'll probably be getting either a dog or cat in next summer. But I did share a story about a pet, so I don't see how that's particularly belligerent or nonsensical.YourGrandpa wrote:So you do or don't have a pet? You have or never had a pet? Particularly belligerent and nonsensical? Because I said only people in Florida cage their dogs? Because I'd never heard of cage training and responded to the links you posted?YourGrandpa wrote:You've instead been particularly belligerent and nonsensical.
