Re: Gravity
And everyone predicted your post encouraging others not to think about it. Predicatable.
Re: Gravity
How did I encourage others?
I genuinely feel sorry for you. All your posts (not only directed toward me) seem to have so much anger and hate. I'm not sure if your life hasn't gone the way you have wanted, or your parents treated you poorly, or perhaps you haven't found a meaningful relationship with a woman. I truly hope you find happiness some day...

No...xer0s just is exactly the kind of narcissist who creates these retarded conspiracies regarding anyone who points out their unwavering stupidity: Anyone who does is angry at the entire universe or jelluz of America...or sumthin.
You know...a typical Conservative...who thinks everyone hates as much as they do.

It's not about enjoying a movie or not. That article actually gives some insight into how real world space flight and EVA's work. It's quite an interesting read if you're into that sort of thing. And to be honest, I do find real-life space flight and the physics involving that much more fascinating than some pseudo-reality created for the entertainment of the masses. It may be a thrilling and exciting movie to watch, but not because of its attempts at science.xer0s wrote:Nah, I'd rather just enjoy the movie...

You don't have to explain it. I understand how interests work. But in my opinion (and that's all it is), I would rather watch the film before I read something like that, because when I do watch it, I don't want to be thinking about what they did wrong or how the physics could have been done differently. I'd rather just sit back and enjoy the film for what it is. Perhaps after I watch it I'll go back and check out what Neil said...Eraser wrote:It's not about enjoying a movie or not. Re: Gravity
November 8th here. I also can't wait to see it. I've never seen a nearly 100% rating at RT before for any movie I've considered seeing, so it doesn't get much better than that. I managed to get a cheap ticket using a tesco clubcard voucher (it's a british thing ya know) which will get me an IMAX viewing for half the normal price. I bet theatre tickets in the US are very reasonable but they're quite expensive here, around £13 normally for 3D or IMAX which is about $21.feedback wrote:can't wait to see this

Hey xer0s, many times you've laughed at the several people here (myself included) who complain about the dumbness in the films they watch, so I'm not being a dick by asking you a direct question:
What exactly do you have against audiences that want more than action and explosions, but cleverness and things to make sense?

Re: Gravity
Why would someone want to read possible spoilers along with errors in the science behind the movie if you were planning on watching it? shut the fuck up already. You can still be interested in science and not want to watch the movie with Neil in the back of your head saying they did that wrong. I skipped his twitter rant and plan to read it after I've seen the movie. Stop being such a tryhard...

Re: Gravity
scientific plot holes are a nuance sure , but it really sucks when one is used as a main device on plot progression.... this movie used a fairly big scientific error to move the story line forward at a crucial moment, more than once. As in, if it wasn't for those scientific fallacies , the movie would have changed dramatically from there on.
Unfortunately, for those of us that are big fans of space exploration and aren't clueless, things like this can really be a slap in the face, and consciously hard to ignore .
And no, I didn't have to read anything b4 I watched the movie... those errors were loud and clear.
having said that, it was well made, but a bit short. I guess I am a bit spoiled by the super long films hollywood is dishing out lately.
over all I'd give it a 8.5/10
-1 for ignoring critical scientific facts
-0.5 for being so short, that felt like it was strangling the story line to its basic constituents.
the rest of it was solid.

Re: Gravity
No it has to do with you essentially calling someone stupid for not wanting to watch a movie for the first time with the director commentary on.GONNAFISTYA wrote:lol jesus the link has nothing to do with my question you fucking idiot. Who's being the tryhard?
You don't want to challenge your intellect by focusing on the minutia the first go around? I guess you're a stupid guy who doesn't like to think.

Re: Gravity
I wasn't even talking about this movie when I asked him my question. And wtf are talking about director's commentary for? To take your argument to the ridiculous? You seriously have comprehension problems and are arguing against fiction you'll only find in your head...which is what stupid people tend to do.
Speaking of shutting the fuck up already...

We are in a thread about the movie Gravity. Someone posted a link of Neil deGrasse Tyson's commentary about the film. xeroes said no thanks he wants to enjoy the movie first...you proceed to call him dumb. I don't give a shit about your follow up questions I quit reading your bullshit past that. C-c-c-an you n-n-n-ot follow this c-c-c-onversation you downs baby?
twat.
Re: Gravity
For what it's worth, there's no spoilers in Tysons tweets or the arstechnica link. The latter specifically limits itself to the imagery shown in the (extended) trailer.shaft wrote:Why would someone want to read possible spoilers along with errors in the science behind the movie if you were planning on watching it? shut the fuck up already.
