I have XP with SP2 and I use WindowBlinds.
No crashes...no bullshit. It just works.

I have window blinds 4.0 and It don't crash here. Actuall it looks kind of nice.

skins .
Version 4 and above use hardware acceleration for their effects. There is basically no performance loss at all compared to using default XP themes. And it skins EVERYTHING.
I just changed my to theme to

Every skinning app I've ever used was either slow, unstable, broken or just awkward.

XP Skins to me are so boring. You can only stare at it for so long. I suppose if you only spend a few hours a day on the computer it would be ok, but when you spend 16 hours a day in front of one then you have to have some variety.

How do i install these? I placed them in the directory %systemroot%\Resources\Themes\ but still, nothing shows up even after restart.

Once you're rebooted just double click on the .msstyle and then the theme windows loads up, then click ok.
