what do you think about this

Then you should also know that It's not only about the technological advancement, its the story of a civilisation and its progression, with Americas being dumped on top of someone elses because they essentially wiped out another. We share the same history in essence because nothing Indian has contributed to modern society where as in Europe, Middle East, Africa has given everything from our art to law, religions, languages etc etc and we can follow the same progression if we travel to the other side of the planet to Japan / China and its influences. All this was made possible over time, a progression that wasn't possible in North America.Κracus wrote:
I get that, but that only applies if you equate technological advancement with historical artifacts. In my eyes a 10,000 year old artifact is 10,000 years old no matter what it is.
American Indian history stopped dead when Euros wanted genocide, pretty much wiped it out, that was the end of its advancement and the most they could leave was arrowheads and tribal systems that wasn't much more developed than what was in Europe 3000 years before. Nothing was ever integrated.
So North America does have a history, its just pretty shit because the variety is limited due to a lack of industry / development until the Euros turned up and decided to start again from scratch. Hence why compared to Europe, or even the most of the World, America has no history cos you killed it before it began.
Someone in America can't go *ahh this is when they discovered glass / optics or whatnot because no one ever did, nor can they say they changed castle designs in X century and how it benefited the towns that were growing around them.

nice peace plained. I'd guess that the supper boobies are exaggerated as an indication of fertility (which usually hints on other goodies, like good health etc.), which is probably the main message the artist was conveying.

http://nordonart.wordpress.com/2012/03/ ... in-london/Lot 321. A ROMAN BRONZE CHARIOT FITTING CIRCA 1ST-2ND CENTURY A.D.
In the form of a pantheress standing with mouth agape revealing a lolling tongue and teeth, with pointed ears, heavy teats, and a long tail curled over at end, with incised markings to indicate her coat and ribs, wearing a chest harness held with a circular clasp at back of neck, the rein guard in the form of a right-angled human finger supported on a spiral volute below, the integral rectangular base with an attachment socket on the underside. 6¾ in. (17 cm.) long. Estimate: £100,000 – £150,000 ($158,600 – $237,900). Bidding on this lot (the cover image on the sale catalogue) opened at £80,000 and stopped at £95,000 and it failed to sell.
The harness that the pantheress wears indicates that she would have been one of the panthers drawing the chariot of Dionysos on his triumphal return from Asia, a scene most often found on Roman sarcophagi.
The hooked finger at the side secured or held straps or reins. These hooks took various forms including figural busts, leaping felines or more commonly duck heads. The use of the human finger might suggest some kind of apotropaic function to ward off evil spirits or bad luck.

it must seem like a lot of words to a guy who thinks people don't sweat when it's warmer than body temperature outside.
