Re: Goddamned nerds and their fast PC gaming culture
Using four GTX 780 Ti cards would be faster, which makes this video hilarious.
Re: Goddamned nerds and their fast PC gaming culture
I expected something more crazy. They just build a very expensice PC with standard components.
I'd have been impressed if they parallelized several SSD drives. And if they used more than 4 graphics cards in parallel. When i started the vid i was expecting 20 cards or something ...
Using only expensive but tried solutions is boring.

Re: Goddamned nerds and their fast PC gaming culture
They didn't run any games on it to demonstrate the performace; what a waste.
[sarcasm]A gaming PC they don't run games on: Brilliant![/sarcasm]

Re: Goddamned nerds and their fast PC gaming culture
I should have expected as much from a bunch of PC nerds.
Any one of you fucks would be drolling over this machine if is was sitting on your desk, humming away and ready to play whatever game you wanted. Well....everyone except ToxicBug, who already owns a beast similar to this.
All I can say is,"You fucking fags". You all sound like Homer Simpson...."I've seen faster."
Here's the original article, which will allow to see for yourself that it's not an nVidia commercial (new parts will be installed whenever they believe they can increase performance) and you can see the Arma 3 footage generated on the machine.
Jesus....and all you fucking idiots want to talk about is phones...

Re: Goddamned nerds and their fast PC gaming culture
I make levels for the games that other people design.
The games I design would never be made by a modern publisher: too ambitious, too complex, it's not suitable for consoles and - most importantly - there's no plans for a sequel/series of games. Honestly...you'd jizz your pants.
But since I'll never want to suffer through the bullshit of starting my own studio and since my ideas don't fit the "business model" of today's corporate and risk-averse culture, I'll just continue making levels for games that I personally feel underwhelmed by. It sure beats working for a living.
In short: I'm begging you to stop buying shit games and buy better games so I can work on better games in the future.

I know a guy who's running triple SLI 780s. In fact, his system is pretty similar to the rig PC Gamer built but with one fewer GPU.

Re: Goddamned nerds and their fast PC gaming culture
PCGamer... sponsored by Corsair?
also, pointless vid without even running any benchmarks, let alone any games.

Intel i7 3930 CPU, 32gb DDR3 1866 RAM, SLI (2x) Nvidia 660TI 3gb Video Cards, ASUS Sabertooth x79 Motheboard, RAID 0 (2x) OCZ Vertex 3 SATA 3 120gb SSD Hard Drives, RAID 0 (2x) Corsair SATA 128gb SSD Hard Drives, Maxtor 250gd SATA Hard Drive, LG SATA DVDRW Drive, Corsair CPU Liquid Cooler and Coolermaster Mid tower with (3) 120mm fans.
I built this a little over 6 months ago. The price of SSD drives seems to be dropping rapidly. So I'm probably going to upgrade to larger SSDs the next time I reload the OS.

That IS a nice racing stripe on his PSU, though. Yellow of course.
