Hmm, a polarizing filter? Yes, on digital cameras it has to be a circular polarizing filter I have read.

I recall too, a polarizing filter reduces the amount of light hitting the sensor by at least one f stop, and in some cases as much as two f stops.

Any camera people confirm comment for me :D
No, you're correct in that is hits at least one stop (sometimes 2 or 3) so you need to keep that in mind. Also keep in mind that, depending on the direction of the sun in the framing, there might not be any polarizing effect at all. If it's directly behind or in front of you, the effect is minimal.

There are loads of different filters for different effects, so get a few and experiment.

You can ask your employer to take more off per cheque if you like. It's legal and there's no dodgy accounting going on. Just figure out the per-paycheck difference from what's deducted to what you still owe and I'm guessing tax time will be a little less painful, as you might not notice the difference too much cheque-to-cheque.

I'm actually doing that this year, I don't know exactly what ammount I needed to take off though since I just started a new job and the pay is quite a bit higher than my previous job and I had to pay taxes previously too.

I had them take 100$ off each pay for income tax though, I'm hoping that'll be enough to at least cover what I owe this year... Don't know yet though.

Yes, look, I know it is sad, but I raise my hand to buying one of these :smirk:

Yes sir, I have an excuse.
I really want to see if I am into Lego like I was years ago :D before proceeding; truth is, I don't want to invest hundreds of dollars into a hobby if I am not that way inclined :?:

It is fun assembling today:) and yet to finish.
I bought the motor pack online today too (one of my rare online purchases) so I wait delivery.....

Considering.... but camera lenses and filters are calling :D

There are three things I'm considering purchasing in the not too distant future:

1: A programmable video signal generator that can output an analog pixel clockrate of up to 400mhz. Will get this second hand if I need it.
2: A Sencore CR-70, or preferrably CR-7000 CRT rejuvenator. Again, second hand.
3: A sous vide machine (which will allow me to use it as a slow cooker, sous vide device, and braising).

Might have to buy myself a new PC, i suspect my hard drive is dying or something.

Been getting these weird ass exotic errors, BSOD's, random shutdowns, complete failure to play any game, etc etc. It's horribly depressing :(

Download the sysinternals suite of tools, especially process explorer if you haven't already... great tool for troubleshooting stuff like BSOD's.

Say what now? Linkie? And is it noob-friendly? Please understand that i have just about zero knowledge regarding the inner workings of my machine, it is and always will be black magix to me. It suddenly went real weird on me is all i know.

Willing to give just about anything a try because i can't really spare the cash for a new machine at the moment though :/

You can find the tools here.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/sysi ... 42062.aspx

I'll admit these aren't the most noob friendly tools. Procexplorer though is AMAZING. It's like task manager on steroids and it can do a multitude of things to help determine the cause of crashes but you do need to be somewhat fluent with the inner workings of your machine.

If you launch procexp.exe (it's zipped you'll have to unzip it) an easy thing to do is to try and see if you're having high cpu usage or high memory usage. With procexp you'll be able to see exactly what files are causing this to happen so it'll give you a chance to isolate a piece of software that might be causing problems. Then you can re-install the software or patch if it a patch is available etc...

Feel free to take a screenshot and post it here if you're unsure, I might be able to provide some insight.

Another good idea would be to check your event viewer in the system section and see what errors your getting. You'd be surprised how a quick google of an error you see in the event viewer may lead you to the cause of your issues.

Almost as overwhelming as answering which model GTI one owns.
Thick, solid and tight in all the right places.

So my nerd told me it was a faulty RAM stick, he's putting in two new ones because he felt that was the wisest thing to do. I was pleased to hear this and asked him what he'd do to make it better still, he told me a story about something called an SSD card or somesuch. Lightning speed, he said, incredible efficiency, the new hip thing to do. He then tried to tell me about gigabites and other such headache inducing things but i cut him off before he could bore me and told him to stick that thing in there as well.

Problem solved, early christmas

Caught a wicked deal on a used i7 alienware. Pulled the trigger. Couldnt pass up a 500$ computer that runs everything on ultra. Not that I actually get much time to play anymore.
Kid got tons of shit. Again. Spoiled brat :)
The woman, No idea. She wants tint and some other car stuff, Most likely doing that.

Another year down. Whew.

If that's the case, then kudos to him. Unlike a wife, you can always fuck a photo when you want to.

I can also get laid in a GTI. Not that I'd want to, it's kinda small.
