Would the Google Glass not interfere with your telemarketing headset?

On the plus side when doing bidness in clubs you can scan it with the glasses to ensure proper weight.

It's scary how I can tell the difference in weight even if it's only off by .05 grams just by holding it... However, can it actually tell somethings weight?

It's practicality for me though would be to pull up technical details while I'm at someones site. It's often the case that I don't have the proper access to stuff at the clients site because the clients access is restricted. So i'm forced to go back to my PC, or RDP into it to get what I need done on the servers and then abck to the client to test what happened.

Right now I use my phone as a reference for stuff like server names, file locations etc... I could see google glass doing this more efficiently but at the end of the day... Does it really help THAT much? I doubt it.

people like to brag about and exaggerate the number of friends they have. this is just a new way of doing that
Perhaps. My friend is the extreme type of extrovert and a massive attention-whore...on par with Paris Hilton TBH...so I'm sure there's merit to what you're saying.

However, my friend is also a typical gadget-geek that is enthralled by anything with a screen. It gets so bad with him texting while trying to maintain a conversation with you that he ends up talking... like... this... with... big... gaps... in... annunciation... because... he's... simultaneously... trying... to... form... sentences... in... his... text... while... talking... to... you... at... the... same... time.

By "client", Kracus is referring to the 80-yr old retirees that call and ask him where the power button is on their floppy mouse drive.

MKJ, did they say or show anything to alleviate the issues with breaching other people's privacy (being filmed without your consent or knowledge by a Glass wearer for example).

It's a commonly heard gripe people have with this device, I think more so than fear for users of the device to become socially isolated.

A friend of mine runs a start-up in Amsterdam and he just visited me in HK for a conference, I got a chance to play with his glass (He just bought his 2nd pair of google glasses as well, clearly he has too much money). Anyway, they look stupid as fuck. Period, you look like a complete goober to wear them. I think they will never become fashionable in their current incarnation, but they could be useful for some people. The display really isn't that cool to have in your face except when it's a map. Having the map function is pretty cool, I felt like someone should make a google maps mod to make it look like a DOOM wad.

The camera isn't really good for photos but I could see that the video function could be useful for people like surgeons doing live streaming surgery etc.

Anyway, could never see myself owning one.
I love quake!

they did not. Note how this wasn't a Google event by the way, the people there weren't Google reps. They were Explorers who had a few hackatons under their belt and such.
Obviously privacy did come up (quite quickly I might add) and right now there's no way of telling how this will pan out. The Glass will most likely get some sort of indicator that it's filming/about to take a picture but the one they had (rev2) didn't have this yet.
Someone there was a lawyer and said that the EU is now actually formulating some new privacy laws, laws the Glass will fall under as well. One of these would be that an individual has to give permission to be photographed/filmed beforehand, unless the content has some newsvalue (right now it's the other way around). If you see your pic online and the photographer can't prove you gave permission he has to destroy it. (lol internet)
This law is already active in Sweden or some such progressive country and it seems to work pretty well.

Another solution offered was Glass scramblers, similar to mobile Phone scramblers some museums and restaurants have, that will effectively block the Glass' recording capabilities when in the vacinity. This would work by tapping into the Glass API, basically. Google would have to work with these people to get a standard going so that would probably take a few years :/

@feedback lol at the fashion statement. it's basically still a prototype so yea. too bad there's not a Gucci model yet huh.

Also at missing the point.

IMO heads up and in the ear is the natural progression for mobile comms+Internet.
