QL: Campgrounds remade

Hi all map makers.
This is my first time in this forum, so I want to show you my first map. Maybe some of you already saw it before, but this forum is the right place to show it and get some usefull feedback.
This is a remake of Dm6 Campgrounds, my prefered map of all times. My idea was to make it duel only, smaller and faster. Textures are all custom made, except the sky. My big concern about make a map is, in first place, make it tacticaly interesting. I understand that this is the most dificult goal, and so so so dificult to achieve ! Needs a full understanding of the game and ofc a lot practise in map making. And I am very far from that yet. Please see this as a first map made by a mediocre Q3 player. I`m working on 2 new maps, hope i can show it soon.

Might be a good idea to add at least one screenshot while you are at it. This will make potential testers much more eager to help test the map.

is this for quake live? as the pk3 seems to be broken when i download it.

I really like the textures, remind me of something, the good old days, cannot quite put the finger on it though. Art Deco? Maybe because blue maps, as compared to green ones, are fairly rare. Looks very interesting.

Alas, as fKd pointed out the pk3 file is broken. I sure hope this is not for Quake Live.

Made a download of that file, played it on quake live and all seems ok... :rolleyes:

Quake 3 Arena and Quake Live PK3 files are not compatible with one another. You should specify which game your map is for. The people above are trying to run your map in Quake 3 Arena, hence the confusion.

Ok, sorry didnt know that! :o All maps im doing are for QLive...Should I make it for Q3 Arena? Is it required for this forum?

No it's not required to make it for Q3A if you don't want to, but would be a good idea to at least mention the game you are mapping for if you are asking people to help you test it. Making it difficult for people to test your map will just make people not want to bother.
