Kids these days

Post by Κracus »

They don't appreciate a good game like we used to when we were kids. I recently bought Mega Man X for the Wii and my 6 year old wanted to try it out. I said sure and let him have a go at it, after about 3 minutes he hands be back the controller and says "I changed my mind". I recall playing the shit out of Mega man as a kid so are kids these days being given games that are simply too easy for them?

pretty sure they are too hard.
the setup of those old games are relatively simple (which is why they are a turnoff for kids now), but to actually beat those you'd have to own the shit out of it difficulty wise. MMX is no exception.

You nailed it in Κracus. The 3 minutes time frame seems to be the young attention span then they dismiss the item.

Probably being bought up in a disposable and technological world like we were not is the reason.

We took pleasure in spending hours, days being occupied but these days they switch off knowing it will be there tomorrow, and dismissing too easily the life experience :smirk:

Hey man... MMX is no laughing matter. When I finally vanquished Sigma in that fucking game I think I shed a single tear of joy. Then I went and got that fucking Street Fighter attack from Dr.Cain and showed that robotic mother fucker the meaning of pain.

Kid needs a bit of

But yeah, what whiskey said.
You probably weren't that enthused by your gramp's favorite boyhood passtime, either.
Sure it was fun for him, because he didn't know any better, but .125-bit goat fucking?...
