Extreme Weather/Climate Change Thread

Post by Whiskey 7 »

Parts of Australia have started the new year in sweltering conditions, with temperatures near 50 degrees Celsius in regional South Australia, and a heatwave predicted for Queensland.
So it is going to be a scorcher in the next few days mate :) with near 40°C* forecast tomorrow.

Warm in the centre as you'd expect..
Top temperatures at Alice Springs have not strayed below 43°C since the start of the week.

lol 50C. I'd be dead by that point. I have a hard time moving off the couch when the temp goes above 35. However I still wear T Shirts in 5C weather...

We're getting heavy snow storms here in VT. Nothing out of the ordinary for January, I suppose...

that sucks big time

take everything that humidity will damage and put it double bag and vacuum the air out and put it well up high off the ground level.

buy pumps and hoses and dig a mote!

good luck

gl man, hope it's not too turrible. Mr. Plained's mote idea actually isn't a bad one, my neighbor did that this last summer and it really helped save his basement.

The weather is changing everywhere, becoming more extreme it seems. We've had a warm and wet winter thusfar, again. It doesn't really go below zero at this point anymore. Maybe in a month or so, for like a week.

Ten years ago things would have been very different...

Obviously we have forsaken the ancient gods and they are most displeased, we must ply them with offerings.
