Re: 14 days without food.
Don't go too OTT on the fruit. Although its natural the sugar levels are still scarily high and can slow weight loss considerably
Re: 14 days without food.
Yeah I know, I try to make sure I'm consuming 70% veggies 30% fruit.
Re: 14 days without food.
Protein and carbs... that's hardly a balanced diet, and it's precisely the type of diet that can result in weight gain. I have a suspicion that these veg-shake diet fads started out with people who have no idea what to do with a crown of broccoli besides letting it turn to green goop in the back of the fridge.Κracus wrote:I typically eat meat and potatoes with the odd sandwich now and then.

Re: 14 days without food.
Why do they express everything in milliliters? It's kind of odd to measure broccoli by the milliliterobsidian wrote:Read, it's not that hard. Then learn to cook:

Even though I say I eat meat and potatoes I do cook other veggies like onions and bell peppers and garlic, mushrooms etc... I'm not a huge green leaf veggies eater though, I don't really like the taste of them.
However, now in the future once I'm done this diet I can have a smoothie every now and then with the leafy greens I don't typically eat once I'm done.
Also the wife cooks greens all the time so I do eat them.
However, as i've said repeatedly now, I'm not worried about my regular diet, the weight gain was due to soft drinks which I cut out on the 1st. The juicing is to speed up the weight loss and it appears to be working.
Re: 14 days without food.
I suppose it's because most people will have a measuring cup in their kitchen to gain some idea of what a serving should be, but not a weight scale. Different vegetables will have different densities anyway, so I guess it's easier to just measure everything by volume.

Measuring broccoli by volume

Re: 14 days without food.
I understand how you feel but what you are doing is unhealthy. For you to reduce weight, you need to have proper exercise and balanced diet. Of course, you need to eat less and choose the food and drinks you have to take in.
Re: 14 days without food.
Huh? This would exactly be why you'd want to measure by weight rather than volume.obsidian wrote:Different vegetables will have different densities anyway, so I guess it's easier to just measure everything by volume.

Re: 14 days without food.
Make them with sweet potatoes? Those are the hardest damn fries to get right imho.
Re: 14 days without food.
Just weighed myself with clothes and I'm 191lbs as of today.

Re: 14 days without food.
No fat is unhealthy because you cannot manufacture hormones without fat intake. 50g of fat a day is considered minimal for a guy, zero will leave you pushing rope for a month.Κracus wrote:I'd love to hear what you think is unhealthy bout what i'm doing. Re: 14 days without food.
Well the idea is to burn the fat I already have stored, wouldn't that count?
That said, I do include nuts in my drinks, about a handful of almonds in the run of a day.

No, that doesn't count. And you won't be burning your fat preferentially because you aren't in ketosis. Your body will choose the sugars first and then your stored muscle and fat second.

I think I'm going to start saving the pulp though and make some crackers to eat later once I'm done with this.
Re: 14 days without food.
Honest question, do you even read the sound advice that several people (feedback is the latest i see) give about your diet or do you just skip over it because people have been assholes to you in the past or something? Or are you just being stubborn for no good reason at all?
What's the deal here?

Re: 14 days without food.
Well my gut is about twice as small as it was when I started this and I've lost roughly 10 lbs.feedback wrote:Κracus wrote:Well the idea is to burn the fat I already have stored, wouldn't that count?

The only thing is that I can't say if it's because I'm juicing or simply because I cut out sodas since I started doing both roughly around the same time. Either way, as long as I'm seeing gains in the direction I want and I don't feel ill or sick otherwise I'm going to keep going.
Plus, I seriously doubt the human body will burn that much muscle in 14 days.

i kind of get it and i do it as wellDTS wrote:Measuring broccoli by volume

Re: 14 days without food.
No I read everything and take the time to respond to things that are thought out and not simply insults. I've also done a fair amount of research on this before starting and I really am seeing results and I really do feel great! I'm *EDIT* NOT constantly hungry, when I drink the juices I make they satisfy me and when I have REALLY strong protein cravings I throw in almonds and it goes away.Ryoki wrote:Honest question, do you even read the sound advice that several people (feedback is the latest i see) give about your diet or do you just skip over it because people have been assholes to you in the past or something? The real benefit though is how I feel, I used to have chest pains, really bad heartburn and I'd get winded going up stairs. I just don't think my frame is meant to be 200+lbs and that much weight is too much for me. The weight loss is highly encouraging and it's motivating me to go for hikes and to gear up for working out in 10 days. I understand the skepticism though but this really does work better than I thought it would and it's not as horrible as I thought it would be.
