That's some pricy ink but damn I'd love to have one of those.

Strong prediction there Nostradamus, a month after a company had already announced plans to do exactly that.

Giant 3D printers remind me of futuristic RTS games. Those developers were visionaries!

There's money in them there printers. As in printing replacement production line parts.

I'll show you guys some pics of what we've been printing for Star Wars when it's out. This tech is really exciting, I still don't own one but it's only a matter of time.

The thing with all burgeoning tech is that it's pretty much out of date the day it's released and 3D printing no different (even more so at the moment). There are so many different types of machines and methods of printing that it's pointless to buy into a technology now because it may be obsolete next year. Each type has its benefits and flaws (usually sacrificing speed for quality and vica versa) and we're of the opinion for now that it's better to let other people spend £50k on a SLA machine and we just hire its services. I do plan on getting a benchtop one for quick prototypes to test models and show form to designers before it's printed by a bigboy adult machine. I'm just having trouble deciding if it's worth it yet.
