But aye, pretty much. If you're good enough. The AK is a one-shot headshot, helmet or no helmet, from a fair distance. It's first shot is 100% accurate, so long as you're not moving. Though it has possibly the wildest spray pattern of any of the weapons if you hold down the trigger.
Tbh, I've gotta be in the right frame of mind to play it, what with the instantaneous death and everyone else having played it for the past 15 years so i'm one-shot from fuck knows where the split-second I peek a corner, but now and then I get right into it, play not like a drunken chimp and have some good satisfaction from having improved just a weeny bit at it :]
Looks like console to me.
