This has gone from hijacking conspiracy to hijacking probable...

I'm catching a flight home in 12 hours. Not comforting...

Whole lot of speculation. Not a lot of facts. International efforts are becoming more of a race to see who can hit a bulls-eye blindfolded. Media circus is reporting everything and anything even if told plane had in fact safely landed on YGP's big square head. Why even bother reporting anything when 99% of what's being reported is bullshit? Fuck the media, let the experts piece together what happened without the distractions.

It's the White House expanding the search area in response to new information, whatever that information maybe is speculation but is likely to be either the WSJ or ABC 's reporting considering that's where their sources are and were reporting this before the White House presser.

I'm still inclined to believe Malaysia airlines until they have been caught lying, it'd be pretty bold for them to say the plane wasn't flying for hours after losing contact as reported by WSJ (and ABC to some degree) only for the plane to turn up miles away from the China sea. CNN and Reuters are reporting about the 'pings'.

ABC is a tricky subject n all as the transponder would usually transmit constantly until turned off and not at intervals apart but instead tracked like radar with the signal coming from the plane instead of from the ground, the ground would say 'are you there' and it would respond with 'I am here'. So again it would be pretty bold for them to say this isn't the case and that last information received was at 1.07 if this turns out to be a lie. I just find it kinda odd that the White House has taken it upon themselves to search areas where it should not because of reasons that are meant to be bogus and that both agencies (WSJ and ABC) are standing by what they've wrote despite what Malaysia airlines have been saying. I > think < both Boeing and Rolls Royce have denied this to Malaysia airlines as they've mentioned it in a presser but have refused to comment to the media directly, I know for definite Rolls Royce have recently and I think Boeing have in a previous press release by the airline company or atleast labelled it 'inaccurate'. The press releases so far have only responded to the WSJ before it was amended n all, not what has been mentioned by ABC or the Whitehouse

edit 2: Other confusion is the time of disappearance, I havn't looked into it much but there's 3 different times being quoted as official by news agencies, 1.07, 1.20 and 1.30

1.07 is Malaysia airlines story where information was last received from the plane, that's a fact (apparently). I'm unsure where 1.20 comes from, I think it's claimed that this is where it lost RADAR contact but dunno if this is confirmed by the airline company, I am wondering if this could be the last transponder signal but have no idea. From what I can also tell the 1.30 report comes from an ATC source in that they received a message from the plane that was just 'mumbling', pretty sure this one isn't confirmed by the airline as they have already released a transcript of the last words spoken. Again the only one I'm entirely sure about is the 1.07AM. I was gonna look into it more when I start work and have some free time a bit later and am wondering if the 1.20 signal could be the transponder signal as mentioned by ABC.

Well the media were right and Malaysian airlines are bumbling idiots.

The upload link to the satellites (ACARS) was switched off at 1.07 then the transponder at 1.21 (I was right too !), the military RADAR that picked up the blip in the Malacca straight turned out to be the missing flight based on the satellite information accoridng the the Malaysian PM. Various sources have come forward (mostly unnamed), including the Satelite owners on their website over the last few days saying that the plane continued to communicate with satellites by continually pinging but not sending any info and the Malaysian PM has now come out said that the plane could have flown for anywhere upto 7 hours based on this information.

Based on new satellite information, we can say with a high degree of certainty that the Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) was disabled just before the aircraft reached the East coast of peninsular Malaysia. Shortly afterwards, near the border between Malaysian and Vietnamese air traffic control, the aircraft’s transponder was switched off...

...Today, based on raw satellite data that was obtained from the satellite data service provider, we can confirm that the aircraft shown in the primary radar data was flight MH370. After much forensic work and deliberation, the FAA, NTSB, AAIB and the Malaysian authorities, working separately on the same data, concur...

...According to the new data, the last confirmed communication between the plane and the satellite was at 8:11AM Malaysian time on Saturday 8th March. The investigations team is making further calculations which will indicate how far the aircraft may have flown after this last point of contact. This will help us to refine the search.
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/m ... -statement

The investigation team have not long cancelled a press conference after searching the pilots home which is causing some more speculation considering that it is believed the way the systems were shut down and that it was traveling using waypoint beacons indicate that this was done by someone highly qualified with commercial planes and has a good understanding of the planes systems. Even though they shut down ACARS and the transponder they evidently didn't realise that the plane would still send signals to the Satelites.

This could potentially never be found, need to bear in mind it would be pretty hard for the plane to disappear if it entered anyone elses airspace n all and I think the popular opinion is still that the engines were running for around 4/5 hrs.

[lvlshot]http://www.washingtonpost.com/rw/2010-2 ... aphicD.jpg[/lvlshot]

They think they have some idea of its direction (Mallaca straights / Indian ocean) but these people just spent 6 days looking in the wrong place with all this apparent information at hand.

If the popular opinion says the engines were running for around 4/5 hrs and the Malaysian PM has come out and said last Satelite contact was around 7 hrs? after losing all other contact, that would indicate that the plane had landed would it not ?. I dunno how they can tell if the engines were running or not mind. Is there anyway that those pings could be located / tracked ?.
