QL: Map ABC final betaversion (Breathless)

Hi all
This the final betaversion of ABC, now renamed Breathless.
As I say, this is still a betatest, with some details to improve before the final one.
Most of my work here was textures and lights, which I think are almost done. About playability, well, I`ve done my best. Only playing online vs humans- not bots- would be possible to make a real test, but that is only a dream.
All comments are wellcome.
Again, my tanks to Aeon for all his comments and sugestions.

Looks really nice... I like how you used the blueish textures and geometry to make the map look interesting.
  • Only "issue" I noted was a light-stone texture near the LG on the walls up here. Instead of exactly 2 stone heigh brushes you they are 2.3 stones heigh. This looks a bit strange. Simply make those brushes "0.3" lower and the wall brushes above that same bit taller. I noted that you have been working with the multiple stone heights elsewhere.
  • Moving the items away from the JPs makes the map feel a lot more generous space-wise, that certainly seems to have helped.
  • The stairs are now very smooth, and much better.
  • The cage around the RG is a bit tight, I keep getting snagged by it when trying to reach it from the RA, or when trying to jump "out of it", the cage that is. Not player clipped yet?
Seems like the map is pretty much done, good work. I really do hope you have the energy for another map... looking forward to that.

Not seeing exactly what u mean, have to look again. The map is not completely "playercliped", will be one of my final job.

Luckily your attached image in the first post points at the wall texture stripe in question. Looking towards the far side, where the LG is (hidden) in the image, you should see the lighter texture band, just above the floor with a stone wall texture. The brushes this texture is on are slightly too high, thus cutting into the stones that make up that texture.

Added some attachments to point out the texture and also one care where the alignment of the brush edges seems to be slightly off grid = sparklies.

Not only those u saw, there are many more of those little texture mistakes that I need to fix. That job needs a lot of patience and care, I`m trying to find motivation to make it.

This the final version of Breathless (former ABC).
I`m happy with the look -textures, lights and architecture-, but, like any other map, the goal is to make it interesting for a good fight. Did I make it? I cant say, coz when I play vs bots this map is as good as any other. Anyway I think I can make a better map, that will be my next goal.

Your archive appears to be corrupt. The game doesn't recognize it, and I can't open and browse the pk3, either. Try re-uploading?

You can use WolfcamQL for testing QL maps.
