Jazz - Favourite Artists?

Hey guys;

After mostly listening to death metal and other variants of pop music for the last year, I decided to spend some time exploring jazz again.

So: Input and recommendations are highly welcome. So are spotify and youtube links.

What are your favourite jazz artists? What do you like about their work? What kind of jazz do you generally like?

As for me: I fell in love with Jazz over Thelonious Monk. Pure genious. Check his piano part! It starts around 5:10.

theres a guy here in town names greg lowe

sometimes i listen to his stuff i llike it very much

they play him on the local jazz station here
