SoM, keep pretending that you are pirating due to some kind of moral defiance against the developers who worked hard on the game, and not because you are in fact a broke loser.

Why are we complaining about patches? QA could certainly have been better to catch these kind of issues earlier on, but it's better that they're issuing a patch on day 1 instead of leaving people hanging for days/weeks while they fix it after launch. Digital distribution systems with auto-updates like Steam makes the whole patch thing invisible. If in the case of a day 1 paid DLC (which it's not), that would be another story.

Also, link saying the 10GB is DRM?

10GB patches are not "normal", nor "ok".
believe it or not there's still poorons (americans) with datacaps on their internets.

also:
http://www.technologytell.com/gaming/12 ... e-patches/
The reason for all this, according to Bethesda, are the copy protection systems. Instead of using bit patching, which only changes the ones and zeroes that are different, entire files have to be replaced for the DRM to recognize them as valid.

Oh, okay. I think the problem is needing to patch a few file inside one of the compressed PAK archives, but you can't distribute just the patched files, you have to redistribute the whole PAK archive that contains the patch.

Anyway, having to issue a large patch because their DRM system is stupid is a completely different situation than issuing 10GBs worth of DRM as implied above.

Well it's a difference. You made it sound like they issued a 10GB patch just to add additional DRM measures to the game, while the point is that due to DRM preventing incremental updates, the patch is 10GB. So the patch in itself is a bonafide patch to fix known issues.

irregardless of said "patch" its a damn fine sp fps. really digging the design. even the story telling is well above average. if using nvidia, get the beta drivers before starting. i'd recommend this game.

I am using nVidia and didn't have to update drivers at all. Runs very smoothly so far. I'm about an hour in and it's cool so far. The perks system is interesting. I had no idea that was even a thing in this game, so I look forward to fleshing it out and seeing how it serves the gameplay. The biggest stand-out to me within the first hour is the production value. The in-game cutscenes are way better than most western games, in my opinion. The presentation is stronger so far than anything id's had its name slapped on, including its own games.

I don't even know who Machine Games is but they have failed to disappoint so far.
This line only remake is total rubbish I've ever seen!!! Fuck off!!! --CZghost

Machine Games is made up mostly of former Starbreeze developers (Riddick games). Oh, those Swedes and their silly little language.

LOL... don't know if anyone has noticed, but there is an 8-bit "GET PSYCHED" message that flashes on the screen when starting a new game (in reference to the original Wolf3D).

the difficulty level names are the same as Wolf3D's, along with the imagery used to depict said difficulty.
