They were talking about the trial by combat and how it is judgment based on the will of the gods. The beetles are being crushed in cruel death for no reason other than for the entertainment of a moron. Hence the death of men serves no greater purpose and there is no judgment. It's just random smiting by the indifferent gods.

I felt it was a metaphor for the books themselves.

What happens now though.. it looked like the Mountain will die too. Then again Tywin was quick to rule when it went his way.

Fuck this show.
Was the other guys name The Viper? I seem to recall his squire rubbing some shit on his spear, probably poison....so yeah, I'm thinking The Mountain will die too.

Looked like the guy was just shining up the blade. I don't think the Mountain will die of poison, but he'll die of, ya know, the spear in his chest...

also, they had to kill some time. i think the battle at castle black will get glossed over like the battle for king's landing did. seems like there's a lot to wrap up in two remaining eps... not that anything ever really gets wrapped up in this series.
also, that duel was laughable. reminded me of Attack on Titan.

I heard they had a big budget for the upcoming battle.

I remember D.B. Weiss (or the other dude) saying in an interview that the episode with the Battle of the Blackwater in season 2 had just as much budget as all the other episodes of that season combined. This season, however, every episode had that budget.

I noticed there were a lot of close ups from slightly off-beat angles, especially in the bits with Sansa and Petyr Baelish. It worked really well IMO.

Why? Two episodes is worth nearly a 100 minutes of screen time.
Also, I wouldn't say Stannis' attack on Kings Landing (Battle of the Blackwater) was "glossed over". It was a pretty extensively shot battle IMO.

You know, if it was any other show the imp would be okay, they'd never dare kill a character as profoundly entertaining as him - but it's GoT... pretty sure he's now completely fucked :tear:

Not sure though.

Tyrion can escape anytime he wants to. Prisons are designed for normal sized people. The Imp will have an epic escape involving squeezing underneath locked doors, between bars, hiding in a vase when the guards come patrolling, rolling into a little ball and pulling some Metroid turns down secret passages.

It's just a matter of perspective. It isn't Tyrion that's locked away in a prison cell, it's everyone else that's locked away from him.

lol, here's the actor playing The Mountain in Game of Thrones dressed up as The Hulk.

Go to the 2:00 mark to skip the boring stuff. Turn on closed captions to have English subtitles, which makes you understand their viking talk a bit better.
