"Couldn't load default.cfg" ?

This is a continuing problem for me whenever I start up Quake III Arena. It always says in the console "Couldn't load default.cfg." I've reinstalled it several times over, and this message always comes up. I'm running on a Windows XP pentium M with a 64 megabyte graphics card. It's worked before, and it just stopped working, and I haven't been able to play for a year, and I just want to fix it to get it out of the way. Help would be greatly appreciated....thanks! =)

try a manual re-install of Q3. copy the pak0.pk3 from your q3 CD into your /quake iii arena/baseq3/ folder, then download and run the 1.32 update patch.

Yes, but it's usually a sign your Q3A install is borked (like a missing pak0.pk3).
