But that's enough stroking his ego. He'll get even more insufferable.
I remember there being a lot of talk back in the day, but which regular posters were actually good?

I think Dark Metal and SoM were fun to play with and Amidyfreak was pretty solid, too. [xeno]Julios was good, who else? Menkent I think.

I think there used to be a "competitive gaming" section here, right?
Doomer was pretty good. I can't remember if he was better than Azer.

I did however join a tournament here once upon a time. I was obviously the only skilled player in the tournament cause I dominated.

In fact, I destroyed people so bad they made the final match a 10 player free for all on Q3DM18 if I recall correctly. It was a space map meant for I think 6 players and was a complete clusterfuck. I got telefragged several times and wound up getting 2nd place and a big fat nothing even though I would have destroyed the winner in a 1 vs 1 and even though I destroyed every other match on the way there. I was pretty pissed honestly, it was a shit way to finish a tournament and pretty much made the end as random as it could be.
Never happened.
Thick, solid and tight in all the right places.

I don't tend to boast about fictitious computer game tournaments that didn't happen 15 years ago.

Come on son, own it, don't try to pass it on to me.

I wasn't boasting, I was talking about a subject relevant to ops post. I was the only skilled player in a tournament and it went exactly as described in the article except the organizers saw I was just dominating and then set the last match on a map that essentially boils down to drawing names out of a hat to determine the winner instead of actual skill. That's it. Anything else you're reading into is all you bud.

My skill level was eclipsed by julios, menkent, azer, ru1ner, and the other top guys. I lost like 75% of my 1v1's.

I have a sudden urge to play some Quank 3 all of a sudden! I can remember there was a good year or so where I would play it every night for a couple hours with peeps from this board. Who was that fuckin HPB... Dez? Maybe I'm wrong. I remember him doing quite well with something around ~500ms ping.

I had a couple 1v1 with Dutard way back when... he pretty much mopped the floor with me but I remember feeling good that I got a few kills in. He was at the level of "shooting rockets at fucking spawn points so they hit you in the face the second you respawn right after he just killed you" kind of shit. I didn't know how to fight against that :olo: Also.. LG skills++;

Although outside of Q3W fame, whenever I played with IRL friends, it was always too easy for me. Also remember enjoying some mega-fun CTF when TA first came out.

Kinda makes me sad that kids these days don't even know how much fun they could be having :olo: CoD is such a rigid piece of shit compared to Q3.

I remember that guy with the 400-500 ping and yeah he was incredible, I don't think it was Dez but I could be wrong. Duhard wasn't all that good though I remember humiliating him so bad he quit the match before it was over to avoid losing. I'm sure he'll be by shortly to explain it was how bad his connection was.
