The Walking Dead season 5
Re: The Walking Dead season 5
In reality it'll probably be something like "OMG I JUST SAW PEOPLE BITING EACH OTHER ON THE STREET LET'S HIDE IN A BROOM CLOSET AND TALK ABOUT OUR FEELINGS FOR A FEW HOURS"

Okay, seriously, I like the show and all, but what the hell do they have against black guys?
It's like being a red shirt in Trek, 'cept you can't take it off.

Carol just keeps getting more and more badass.
Re: The Walking Dead season 5
I hate Gabe.
His arc is just silly. Get over it man.
Se05 is great, though.

Wow, TWD has never been better. The second half of this season was the best yet. It got real dark and gritty. I really wonder what role Morgan is gonna play in the next season. He was already teased at the beginning of this season.
Re: The Walking Dead season 5
Caught up on the last episodes this weekend, hadn't gotten around to it yet.
Nice ending of a strong season. Quite like how they're rapidly going from good folks to the kind folks that take over your shit and kill your people if they think it'll improve their situation
Bit puzzled about where they're going with the preacher though, he seems absolutely useless and serves no apparent narrative purpose... and they've been quite strong with the 'if you cannot stand up for yourself you're fucked and i ain't helping you' mindset - even the nerd is now slightly badass. Took him long enough to man up a little, but there you go. But with the preacher no such luck it seems - guess they'll probably just shoot him once they find out he's been warning people about them eh?

He's black so I'm pretty sure he'll die soon.

Hah, yes - did notice that the zombies appear to be a bit racist lately

Re: The Walking Dead season 5
People saying this really picked up in season 5: did you want to turn off at season 3, because that's what I did. I loved the first and second series, but whatever the season was after the governor, I just got piss bored with how choppy it got. Is it worth me going back and catching up?
Re: The Walking Dead season 5
Yeah it is. Season 3 is the weakest season. Season 4 seems a bit forced in the first half, but I guess the script writers decided they needed to take a sledgehammer to break free of the extremely boring situation they had written themselves into. Season 5 really shines IMO.

Agreed, it really picks up in Season 4 and even more in Season 5. Struggle through where you left off, it gets much better.

Re: The Walking Dead season 5
It's a little difficult keeping track of Walking Dead seasons, but this one effectively was the one after the Governor.
They always take a mid-season break. The first half of this one was the Beth-with-the-police arc. That doesn't give too much away.
It's definitely getting better, and as Ryo says, they're really exploring the idea that maybe they've been fighting for so long, they simply can't be civilised any more.
I really enjoyed this season, but I did think the Beth thing was a bit weak.
But they're gradually hewing closer and closer to the comics now too. I'm beginning to think I know what's coming, and if they do one particular thing, man, it's going to be SUCH a talking point.

OK that all sounds promising, I just finished with HOC season 3, so have nothing else to move onto. I'm glad it picks because it was a top 5 series for me before it went downhill. I'll catchup next week
Re: The Walking Dead season 5
if you liked HOC I recommend Boss. only 2 seasons sadly but about 14 times better than HOC.
Re: The Walking Dead season 5
Oooooh, that's a big claim, HOC is brilliant - I'll add that to the list. Has anyone seen Boardwalk Empire? I have the box set and haven't ever watched it. I'm horribly behind with decent TV
Re: The Walking Dead season 5
i liked boardwalk and peaky blinders just fine as i like period shows.
