I am still trying to have my telephone and internet service provider fix 2 different faults.

I get duplicate emails as does my Wife (different hardware/software) and my land line telephone rings once or twice (to both called and caller) then stops ringing yet the through connection is made >:( :smirk:

My problem is that I spent too long in the industry.

I think Whiskey has diagnosed the fault here. I've heard that a lot of technical issues are the result of working in the related field for some years, and not that you're a cantankerous old bastard with too much time on your hands who believes the universe operates with yourself in mind.

I think the only possible fix is to construct some kind of time machine, and travel back 40 years and then get a job in a different industry. Just don't become a doctor, you don't want the industry to bite you in the ass in your new timeline by giving you a heart attack or some shit.

Funny you mention a time machine.

Telephone finally fixed. I spoke to the Technician and mentioned my work history. He laughingly said I knew more than he :smirk: but in the end I was correct and the line interface card in the telephone exchange was changed. Happy on the 'phone front.

On the email side, my Wife still gets duplicate emails for about 3 sources 4 or 5 times weekly, whereas mine from one (caused the report initially) only came once a month and at the EOM. Still working on a fix here :smirk:

Almost got fired (not really fired per se, but declared missable during the latest round of cuts so to say) but then my loyal, lovely collegues caused a little riot with the upper management and the situation was reversed.

Yay, i guess.

I took another job, for a significant bump in pay only to hear rumors that the office I just moved away from may be closing. A close call if that ends up coming true.
