Wondering about Theon and Sansa also by the way, i took it as a suicide pact but the missus disagrees on the grounds that we didn't actually see them die.
I had a little bet on with a mate on wether Sansa or Stannis was gonna snuff it, we pretty much agreed that Sansa is still alive because there's too much ambiguity surrounding them, they would've shown something more concrete and was just a cliffhanger for the final ep. Stannis on the other hand is dead as fuck.

Convinces me. Theres a lot of financial speculating with shows of this magnitude, and a ton of advertising and production dollars invested in the future of the series - I don't think any advertiser would be comfortable with a crew member ever coming out and categorically stating that they aren't coming back if they knew otherwise.

It could be RR Martin and HBO revealing the fate of Jon Snow together, the show may not have much of say in it if Martin holds the cards, I was surprised to see the show spoil so much for the book readers. It could also be some huge marketing ploy, in a who shot JR kinda way. There's a lot of rumours n all, ranging from leaked documents saying he's signed up to season 7, his hair and getting seen in Belfast. I don't think any other characters had these kinda rumours surrounding them. He also said he's dead and no shit ? lol.

So I dunno if we're in stage 2 - Denial or if we have a reason to be optimistic.

So if you think you've finally been able to see Lena Heady's (Cercei) titties, I'm here to disappoint you:

Seriously though, why didn't Heady perform the entire scene herself? I mean, it's Game of Thrones and if she had read the books she'd known what was coming and it seems like a kind of misplaced prudishness to not want to do that scene. There have been other actresses doing far less functional nudity in the series. If there's one scene with nudity that isn't sexually charged in any way, it was Cercei's walk of shame.

im betting it was because she looks like a prebubechent boy and would totaly undermine the scene.

Looks like they did us a favor. I wouldn't be suprised if the producers made that decision for her.

Ah, I don't mind they used a body double, I didn't even notice while watching the scene. I just wonder why the decision was made.

She herself said it's so she could focus on the emotion of the scene, but that sounds like bullshit. I'd say as an actor, it'll be much easier to identify with the character if you are actually naked yourself. I'm not an actor though so I could be talking out of my ass here.

Makes sense; I allways thought his mother to be someone living at the reeds place. Some quotes hint to it.
But maybe you're right about this: Maybe he wasn't able to kill the whitewalker because of the valyrian steel but because of his lineage?

I totally agree. I also think they should have cast a body-double who was the same age as her. If she doesn't have the integrity to act the scene herself then at least make sure the double's figure actually resembles hers.

The finale was good but it made me wish they'd paced the season more and put some of the stuff that happened in this episode in previous ones. Sansa and Arya's scenes, for example, could have culminated in the penultimate episode and left more time in this one for the other stuff.

I don't know; my initial thought when I learned she'd used a body double was "Well everybody thinks they've seen her naked, so why didn't she just get naked in the first place?"

But then I thought about it a bit more and realised how intimidating it would be. And given that on a first watch without explicitly looking for the seams, the end result was perfectly acceptable, did it really matter it wasn't her?

If she didn't want to get naked in front of a massive crowd of complete strangers, and they had the technology to ensure she didn't have to, fair enough. I can understand that.

Also, as Pext mentioned above, wasn't she pregnant when the scene was shot?

Like I said, I don't mind them using a body double, but I just wondered why she didn't do it herself.

If there's reasons like her being visibly pregnant or some technicalities like tattoo's that couldn't be worked away, fine. But if the reason is that she didn't want to expose her naked self like that, I think it's a bit prudish. Having said that, it's still her choice and in the end we should respect that.

They used a body double because she was pregnant when they filmed that scene.
