lol, what a crock of shit. You're such a wage slave. If you work for a company that has fits over you taking an unplanned personal day then you have a shit job.
I'm sure if it is that much of a problem for someone to take off at any given time, you would not be allowed to. Just b/c you have time off that you haven't used isn't a golden ticket to do whatever the hell you want.YourGrandpa wrote:That says you are willing to cause your boss/company the extra arrgavation that it takes to plan around your unplanned absence, all because you want to play a video game first.
Wage slave? I call it being responsible. Maybe that's part of the reason why this country is going to shit. Most people don't have a real sense of commitment to their job.Nightshade wrote:lol, what a crock of shit. You're such a wage slave. Moron. You're talking to a guy that spent 5 hours at work today trying to get a late project back on track. You're a fucking wage slave because you think that taking a personal day is a detriment to the company.YourGrandpa wrote:Wage slave? I call it being responsible. Fucking losers.
Apparently GrampsChupacabra wrote:If you can take a personal day off for whatever you want, then take a day off. Who gives a shit whats it for?
I don't know if you're trying to imply that he's got it easy, but I've known a few grade school teachers outside the classroom and that's far from the truth. Many grade papers and set up curriculum at home, get in earlier than students arrive and leave well after they do, etc.Big Kahuna Burger wrote:don't you get summers off?
Broad brush there dippy. I said no such thing. My statement was specifically regarding taking a day off to play video games.Nightshade wrote: Moron. You've said right there in that quote that taking a day off to play video games is detrimental to employers and the nation. Why the fuck do you seem to think that there's some sort of difference between taking a day to go fishing/skiing/basketweaving or to play a video game? THERE ISN'T ONE.YourGrandpa wrote: Maybe that's part of the reason why this country is going to shit. Most people don't have a real sense of commitment to their job.
No, ya assfuck. I never said anything about one day off being detrimental to a company. I said taking a day off to play video games was unprofessional.Nightshade wrote: You've said right there in that quote that taking a day off to play video games is detrimental to employers and the nation. Ok, so that answers my question. You really DON'T understand the words that you're using. I'm not exaggerating (spelling ftw) anything, I'm just pointing out your blatant idiocy and hypocrisy. You think that there's a difference between taking a day off to do whatever you want is fine as long as it doesn't pose a problem for your lord and master, the Almighty Employer. Taking a day off to play video games is bad for the company and (in what you consider to be your ONLY point, because you suck at using your native tongue) unprofessional. Wage slave.YourGrandpa wrote:

Next..
Please keep trying. I know it's in your best interest to keep exagerating the situation.

By your own logic, why isn't it worse that you've taken time away from your family to play BF2? I mean really, taking time away from a wife and kid to play video games?
Nobody needs to turn this into anything more because you've already made the point quite well - you think people should have a YGP-approved reason for using a day of leave, and the idea of them taking a day off work to do something is worse than you taking time away from a family to do the same thing.
edit: not that it is really significant, but I still have 95% of the sick leave I have built up over the years, so I don't feel too bad about using 3 days a year of vacation time.
