Wait, what? Season 1 is only 10 episodes long? Laaame. :(

I guess I'll have to go get the books now, because there's no way I'm waiting to see what happens next. Awesome show.

it's called a forum search function :olo:

good luck with this angle. you've been posting on this forum for 11 years. you're still here. someone reposting something from that span of time is not out of the ordinary.

keep up the furious tears though, i'm enjoying watching you flail about.

LOL it's actually called the "oh i actually backed up all the photos on my hdd in raid1218972 just in case i need them in an internet flame war" function :olo:

Yep, i've been here 11 years. What does that have to do with storing photos of it's members on a hdd?

Oh and another "u mad" sentence at the end :olo:

dude. someone compiled a bunch of q3world gold in a folder and made a thread to download it. at the time, everyone was like, omg this is so awesome, i'm so glad someone did this. I never dl'd it but i'm glad some people did. funny stuff from the past is still funny.

you know who doesn't want to keep and remember stuff from the past? people who hate their past. otherwise it's pretty normal for people to keep things like photos. i have stuff from 10 years ago on my hd, i guess that makes me pathetic? yeah right. keep going.

I'm wondering about something. Maybe Mat can answer this. Are the events in the Game of Thrones series exactly those that occur in the first book of the series? I mean, does the series start and end where the first book starts and ends as well?

Considering that it's just the first book that's called "game of thrones", would they call season 2 of the series "game of thrones" as well? They probably will, with brand popularity and everything.

Eraser:
Book one of "A Song of Ice & Fire" is called "A Game of Thrones".
It ends with Danaerys emerging completely naked from the flames of Drogo's funeral pyre with 3 baby dragons draped around her, the white one suckling at her left breast, the green one at her right. One key difference in the book is that her hair is burned away and she's completely bald (her hair grows back over time).

The series seems to have followed the events of the first book quite faithfully as far as I can tell, although apparently a whole battle is missing (the one where Tyrion got knocked out; he didn't in the book), and the Skydoor in the Eyrie is actually a normal, if grandiose door opening on to a sheer drop, where it's a hole in the floor in the TV show.
I would imagine that the impact of Jaime and Cersei's incest is somewhat lessened in the series too. In the books, they're identified as being almost identical in appearance.

I'll have to watch it now it's complete, see just how it differs.

Also, Tyrion's accent in the series is atrocious from what I've seen.

Tyrion's accent is a little odd at first, but you soon get used to it. The faux aristocratic sound actually adds to his charm, especially when he's throwing out the cunt word left right and centre :D

Aha so the book ends exactly where the series ended.

I guess the battle that's missing was done this way in the series to cut production costs. A shame really, but ultimately not that interesting narrative wise I guess.

thanks to those who recommended this show in another thread. Just powered through the first season and am very happy I did :)

And yes, those little details, like the savage staring with fascination into the eyes of the dying crown wearing cunt, are brilliant.

well, i thought the trailer was gay, the first episode was kinda pants, but for want of anything better to watch, grabbed the rest of the season anyway for the hell of it, and i've got to admit this show is better than i thought it would be. am definitely rooting for daenrys targaryen (sp?) but also for the stark girl with the sword, and of course the dwarf, who's priceless. the rest i can take or leave, but i hope that little blond faggot king suffers a horrible death at some point. what an annoying cunt

also, i can see where this is - or should be - going: white walkers = ice, dragons = fire. clearly daenarys targaryen is the key to sorting shit out in the 7 kingdoms

which means fagboy joffrey (even his name is ghey) should meet an unpleasant end soon, preferably one involving a red hot poker up the jacksie

the real question is why Roz has a shaved growler? in ye olde medieval times surely her nether region should resemble something more akin to Brian Blessed yawning.

Also that "I could care less" line was nearly enough to make me stop watching. Fucking Americans, as a phrase it doesn't even make any sense.

presumably because esme bianco has a shaved snatch, and it was only meant to be a quick glimpse and not meant to be subject to a frame by frame analysis by foreveralone nerds

You should, it's decent. The first two episodes are a little slow but it picks up pretty quickly

that was a pretty awesome scene, and not even because she was naked at the time. shit got really real

also, now we know where HBO blew the sfx budget they *would* have spent on the battle scene that didn't happen
