So is there any more footage or info available about this? While it's surrounded with an air of being something awesome, I'm not sure where the awesome is yet. I see Boromir having an identity crisis.

What I find so interesting about it is the fact its a true fantasy setting with magic. "Medieval" shows on this scale always go for the brutally realistic stories.

This is equivalent on the "Yes!"-o-meter to hearing that Lord of the Rings was being filmed.
I really want this to be fucking awesome.

This is equivalent on the "Gay!"-o-meter to seeing the trailer for Avatar.

ehh.. not really, the books are fucking awesome (emphasis on the "fucking awesome"). Also the entire premise of the story has bugger all in common with avatard, so I'm not quite getting the point behind your comment. I'd recommend to anyone to read this series of books right now. Of course if you aren't into reading much that's your loss...

If you're commentin on the content/quality of the video, it's a teaser trailer, so of course it ain't showing much.

^ how do you get from "this looks gay" to "i don't read much"? i followed bit's wikipedia link, started reading the synopsis but had to stop after a few paras because the rampant homosex was reaching critical mass. it sounds like the standard FF set-in-a-feudal-world-order where everyone and everything has a horrible concatenation for a name. there are probably wizards and - let me guess - dragons? in there too

also: avatar, because the trailer for that was this gay too (the movie itself was just disturbing)

the books are great, seremtan you should really check them out - I'm sure you'll love all the incest and midget-sex

seriously, they're very good (and indeed, there is plenty of incest and midget sex)- if you hate the usual fantasy tropes you'll love them because GRRM loves to break them

No posts yet? This shit looks to be seriously epic. Lots of stuff going on already in the first episode (and some excellent female casting  ). Very interested in seeing what these White Walkers are and wtf their deal is.

I watched it last night. Pretty fuckin good so far. They weren't kidding when they said they wouldn't be scared to kill off main characters.

Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "excellent female casting". There's really only one hot chick, which is the girl that was forced to be married. The Kings wife is only meh, IMO...

Well, I don't know if you can call them main, but characters that you would expect to stick around for a while...
