Xbox one thread

Correct sir. Lol autocomplete etc.
Re: Xbox one thread
After Squeenix' apologetic letter to the community - "we still love the other platforms but our MS friends paid us money so yea" - Microsoft's Phil Spencer now elaborates on the deal. Spoiler: it's not exclusive.Captain Mazda wrote:Guess it won't be worth playing then.Memphis wrote:So, Tomb Raider 11 an Xbone exclusive. Someone at Squeenix needs a good fisting.
We can all relax now.Yes, the deal has a duration," Xbox boss Phil Spencer told Eurogamer. "I didn't buy it. I don't own the franchise."
In other words, when they said yesterday that the next big Tomb Raider game is an Xbox exclusive, what they really meant is that it'll be out first on Xbox (both 360 and One), and then it'll come later to other platforms.

With all due respect, but you're being such a weak apologetic cunt for the gaming industry here MKJ.
Sure, you can buy an Xbox One via import and everything, but the fact that MS officially launches the device in a few European countries nearly a year after the initial launch just shows such a gigantic lack of respect for their customers. It's like they aren't taking these markets seriously and the alternative of import doesn't just make that "OK". And yeah, the fact that this is yet another unforgivable Xbox One fuckup on MS' side doesn't exactly tip the scale in their favor either.
Also, a franchise as big as the next Tomb Raider game being released on Xbox first and Playstation and PC later is NOT a cool thing. It's absolute shite in fact.
It's something that MS is doing out of their own interest, only to enrich themselves. The consumer isn't getting any favors here, in fact, most consumers are completely fucked by it, because they have to wait before they can play the game, possibly for months.
It may seem like I'm overreacting and yeah, it's "just" videogames and there sometimes are alternatives, but it's just that if everyone goes "oh, ok" and moves on, companies in the gaming industry continue to pull this sort of shit and fuck the consumer over and over, if not doing worse.

I agree on all your points, well except for the cunt part. Cunt.
I'm not defending, I'm just pointing the way to solutions.

Re: Xbox one thread
I got an xbone on release and it still blows 15 kinds of dicks.
The ps4 pumps it in the butt when it comes to exclusives. Especially after the gamescom showing.
It was advertised as an all in one media center, but we're still waiting for a way to easily stream media off a network drive which was finally announced almost a year after release like MKJ posted.
It got a little better since release but it still crashes all the time. The voice command and controller power on function randomly don't work, and it has to be powered on directly from the console.
The resolution/framerate is musky balls in mouth for some games in comparison to the ps4.
There's a delay in the hdmi pass through, so it's pointless to use it for another gaming console or emulator. The only use I got out of it is to connect a media center pc, which shouldn't even be required if we had decent DLNA support.
The few things I like about it: The voice commands. Turning everything on and browsing netflix without having to find a controller is sick, and it works pretty well unless there's a bunch of people talking in the room. The youtube app is abysmal, but the ability to pair an ipad to it circumvents the shitty points. Killer Instinct.
At the moment, Steam in big picture on my TV probably gets the most use for gaming.

Are there even 15 kinds of dick?
or are we talking interspecies.

Re: Xbox one thread
I've found the voice commands to be iffy at times too then realized I was saying it wrong. Like if you want to turn the xbox off don't say "Xbox Off" you gotta say "Xbox turn off" and it seems to work every time.
Otherwise I have to agree that it doesn't have enough good games for it. I'm hoping that'll change by November.

Re: Xbox one thread
Yeah, I know a lot of people hate the voice stuff, but I rarely have trouble unless it crashes or whatever it's doing when it refuses to boot. Random sounds in the environment or on TV or from farm porn streaming off my mobile device activated a voice command 2 or 3 times which isn't a huge deal.
Re: Xbox one thread
Wait, this thing is still not available in Europe, really?
Why is that then? Seems a little strange, no?

Cos MS decided to launch the console way before production was complete.
US, UK and DE are essentially betatesters for the rest of the world.

Ah, i see... a case of missed deadlines then. That's ugly.
Had no idea, thought the thing had been out for like 6 months already.

Re: Xbox one thread
lol, the xbox one won't support dutch voice commands when it's launched here on 5 September. So first they delay it for a year because of localization issues and then when it arrives, no localization was done.
Good job Microsoft, really.

Re: Xbox one thread
Oh and before all the Dutchies go "I use English voice commands anyway", true for many of us but not for a lot of other people. It's still no less of a blunder on Microsoft's end.
Re: Xbox one thread
I'm concerned that they're going to drop voice support altogether since they're selling kinectless xbones now. The youtube app doesn't support it so it's not like it's a standard.
Re: Xbox one thread
I don't think they're gonna drop it entirely. I actually find it useful and was kinda dissapointed yesterday when I realized it doesn't work with youtube, except to pause but you can't unpause it.

Then it's Horizon 2 and Evolve that are next on my radar.
