Right, I forgot the newer Morgan cores do indeed support SSE. What happens if you start the game with +set r_renderer arb?

It's an OS incompatibility issue. You need 2000 or XP.

My bet is that it's not able to create one of the video objects since his card only supports DX 8.1.
