They made it really small & slim-line so it would be easier on the living room setup.

When you have it on top of the television, you only see the width of the black/grey part on the front there. Looks just about the width of the plastic frame around my flat panel monitor.

cable looks longer than i thought it would be
still, dont fancy running yet another cable through the living room.
although that might be a good incentive to redo the cabling, which i kinda need to anyways

That guy's wrist strap broke - didn't do any good.
You have to wonder how hard he was slinging the thing around though. Not only could he not hold onto it, but the wrist strap broke? I think he was probably doing something stupid -- the guy posting doesn't seem quite as pissed as I would be.

but you're still adding height to the top of your set. for me that's not gonna work.
9 ft max from the controller?

Not according to Nintendo:
"Using Bluetooth technology, the wireless Wii Remote sends your actions to the Wii console from as far as 30 feet away. As a pointing device, the controller can send a signal from as far as 15 feet away. Up to four Wii Remotes can be connected at once, making for some great multiplayer fun!"

I took the wrist strap off for my first game of Tennis because I thought it was dumb and would just get in the way. The thing flew out of my hands and hit the ceiling about 10 feet away! Then I tripped on GameCube cords while retrieving it.
Fucking idiot

I could be wrong but the pointer seemed to drop off the screen at about 9 feet. Let me get a pic for you too.

Ok, the motion sensor pointer disappears at roughly 9 feet. The buttons respond as far away as I can get in my apartment (which must be atleast 30 feet).
This is as far away as I can get before the pointer drops off the screen.
42" plasma with sensor on top
Pardon my roommate's shitty cam.

You can mount it below too. There is an option in the setup that asks if your sensor is above or below the TV.

Thanks for the pics Bit.
Can't really see the pointer on the screen there, but I can approximate the distance at least.
