According to the poster it's for the whole country and they're ads for an ACLU concert.

I'm too lazy to look but I'd recommend going to ACLU's site and checking the list. Maybe they have the reasons posted to why the books are banned?
http://www.aclu.org/campaigns/2004banne ... index.html
http://www.aclu.org/FilesPDFs/bannedbooks.pdf.pdf
http://www.aclu.org/FilesPDFs/ACFD1F.pdf

If you zoom in you can see where the books are banned.

I see that James and the Giant Peach was partly banned for the use of the word "ass", when it's an English book where "ass" would mean donkey. That was in 1991 in Altoona, WI (Wisconsin).

maybe they're only banned an a particular school campus or something.
except that the poster reads "These books have been banned in the United States"
Another reason i hate the ACLU

well, the 1st amendment would prevent a ban in the sense that most countries would think of, like spycatcher or whatever. it probably just means some library or school or whatever decided to ban them from their premises

probably mostly banned from schools and few banned from a particularly prudish county library sort of thing

Schools contribute to racism by banning "To Kill A Mockingbird" because of the word ni66er.

Everyone is jumping up in arms and getting all frothy at the mouth over news they should not pay attention to. Until April 2nd rolls around, I'm ignoring all internet news.

Dunno, didn't think about the tron banning after the first couple of posts. Latched onto the book banning and didn't look back. Shame on me. :tear: :p

It can't be more than 24 and it's not even the 31st yet here so it's not possible for them to be into the 1st april.

Also, any April fools that happens outside of midnight March 29th and Midday April 1st is invalid and the originator becomes the fool. Surely this is common knowledge?

Oh no terrorists might get ahold of a 1982 Disney movie that teaches next to nothing about computers/games but somehow will allow people to attack us! I should show this movie to all my friends!

Yeah, couldn't find any cross reference documents on this either. I guess it's a fake. Though with the way Homeland Security works, it's a possibly believable fake.
