Yeah, god forbid people have a civil discussion in GD.
You know, R&R is just a place on the internet. Not everyone takes it personal.

Kracus wrote:I'm thinking I'm gonna try a live sandbed with some live rock. I'm reading up on it as we speak, if you got any good websites post em up.
BTW, you might re-think this when you find out how much a chiller costs.

i wouldn't do saltwater for a first tank. you can wast a lot of money killing fish and coral till you figure out what you are doing.
I'd go with cichlids. They require a little more work and are a lil more spendy then just plain tropical fish, but well worth the effort.

Gramps, why do you keep referring to coral as "live rock"? Is it some term to make you look like you're some sort of big expert?
Anyway, it BETTER be fucking expensive, because any time some idiot hacks coral out of a reef for an aquarium, the reef gets smaller.

YEA I PARTY SO MUCH IM NEVER AT HOME AND WHEN I AM MY BUDDIES COME TO MY HOUSE AND MAKE ME PARTY WITH THEM AND I ONLY SLEEP 3 HRS A WEEK CAUSE OF ALL THE PARTYING AND FRIENDS I GOT AND I ONLY WORK AS A COVER FOR MY CLUBBING AND DRUGDEALING - WHICH ISNT ILLEGAL BTW - AND I DONT HAVE A PC CAUSE I DONT HAVE TIME FOR THAT BECAUSE I NEED TO PARTY ALL THE TIME AND HAVE SEX WITH RANDOM HOT GIRLS. YET I DO HAVE MORE THEN ENOUGH TIME TO BUILD AN ECOSYSTEM IN AN AQUARIUM SO I CAN WATCH FISH ALL DAY WHENEVER IM NOT PARTYING (WHICH IS ALWAYS).

"Live rock" is what it's commonly referred to in the retail world. Sorry if that's a bit over your head.
BTW, most "live rock" sold legally is commercially grown for that purpose.

Holy cow. 2000 pounds total. Did you have to have the floor built differently to support all that weight?

no he had the floor built differently to support the incredible weight of his fat head. being able to have the fishtank is just an added bonus
