your generalizations are very weak... i thought you were an F1 fan too? pure blasphemy sir
I am, that's how stupid I think you're comment was. NASCAR would have worked too, but the only people who think it's easy to shoot are those who haven't done it.

I used to skeet shoot with a friend that had the equipment... plus I never raced in an F1 car, but nice try.

I know fuck all about guns, never used one myself. I imagined they were all still mostly metal but that looks like it's made with some sort of plastic?

When I am home it will be lying on the table wherever I am just in case I need to put a hollow point through some meth head breaking in or to ward off aggressive Jehova's Wintesses.

When we are gone I will hide it between the matress and the boxspring on the bed WHERE NOBODY WOULD LOOK.

Really though when its being stored it will be locked in a case which will be locked in the fireproof safe we have for important documents and whatnot.

Insightful - "Persons with guns in the home were also more likely to have died from suicide committed with a firearm than from one committed by using a different method (adjusted odds ratio = 31.1, 95% confidence interval: 19.5, 49.6)." :olo:

I could have told them that prior to the study.

Why didn't you get a rifle? They're way more fun for on a range. Or at least i thought so when i went mental in Thailand and spent an afternoon shooting all sorts of weird guns. The handguns managed to quickly bore me, whereas peering down a large barrel made me feel all alpha male.
I liked trying to rattle off double taps or rapidly moving from target to target with a the handgun. As for the .40 - felt like a happy medium. I have a .45 already (before people go off about that, it was handed down from my grandfather - I got a .45 Smith and Wesson Model 1917 US Army issue revolved and a Nazi issue Luger P38 9mm - grandfather was a battlefield medic for the US in WW2, he brought back some things from the war and gave them to the grandkids). I also have a Hitler Youth knife - unfortunately we never got the story about how he came into possession of these things. I've heard that the gun was from a dead German soldier, but I wasn't sure if that was just a line of bullshit as I didn't think you could loot the belongings of fallen enemies. These are those collectibles that I'm not really sure what to do with so they pretty much stay permanently out of sight.

Here's a crappy iPhone picture of them:

Maybe only on paper - Geneva prohibits it. Regardless, there was a fuckton of looting from all sides of the war. Lugers were highly prized trinkets by allied soldiers on the Western front and swords in the East.

also, the geneva conventions weren't signed until *after* ww2 iirc. pretty sure looting happened a lot during the war. either that or steven spielberg lied to us - and that's just crazy talk

the 4th geneva conventions were signed after ww2. it has been a no no to loot bodies since before then. either way, looting seems like a big nothing to me if you've just killed a guy

I'm sure it harks back to times when opposing sides would set a time and place for battle as if war was a gentleman's game and dying was just part of the deal! I'd say if you're in war and you kill a guy, you'd be a fool not to loot him if it's possible for you to do so.

tnf, You ever watch Top Shot? http://www.history.com/shows/top-shot

I'm not interested in owning a gun but I love the show. Those guys have some mad skills with guns (bows too).

That's pretty sweet, thanks for sharing. I'd want to find a way to display them, at least the luger and the knife.
