Since YGP doesn't post here anymore...

Post by tnf »

..I'll fill the void by posting about my new purchase. While not as exciting as a new combat shotgun or assault rifle, I did buy a .40 cal Beretta PX4 Storm today. Not a pic of mine (5 day waiting period before I'll have it) but this is the same model.

Shot one at a friend's house (he lives on a few acres and has a target range in on the property) and since I've been wanting to pick up a handgun for awhile now, figured this would do.

I don't plan on getting a concealed weapons permit nor open carrying the thing around while waving a confederate flag at tea party rallies, though.
I won't be getting one of these either:

have fun plinking targets at the range. shooting is good fun and being mechanically inclined I love the engineering that goes into them.

Shooting at the range is indeed fun.

Seriously though, tnf...are you going to get hollowpoint rounds such as in the pict? If the answer is "yes" I'll call you gwamps junior.

and I don't know what the nay sayer's experience with guns is, but I find it incredibly awesome that I can set something up a good distance away and then accurately put a slug of metal thru it.

we have a gun problem in this country but safe money says tnf isn't it.

What he said. I don't understand how owning a gun suddenly turns one into part of the problem.

I've been eyeing up those px4 for a while now, light as fuck, comfy grip. Would also like to get my hands on a 92fs.

Out of curiosity, where are you going to keep it?

Just to be transparent, I do think that tnf is smarter and has better judgement than most people. Still...

Isn't 40 cal kinda on the high side for a pistol..?

Why didn't you get a rifle? They're way more fun for on a range. Or at least i thought so when i went mental in Thailand and spent an afternoon shooting all sorts of weird guns. The handguns managed to quickly bore me, whereas peering down a large barrel made me feel all alpha male.

Why do you insist on beating a dead horse? We've had this discussion a million times and we're all aware of your opinion and everyone else's opinion. Can't tnf just post his new toy for bragging rights and be done with it?

meh, if you want a real rush of awesomeness, pick up a fucking spear and try to hit something with it.

lol @ pointing down a gun's cross-hairs towards a stationary target and pulling the trigger...

Guns are one of the worst false sense of manhood a moron can have.

I ain't trying to kill anything dude, and I have a motorcycle to make me feel manly with the biggest peen as I fly past your minivan.

I love ignorance dismissing things they don't like as if they're nothing. Pfff...F1 drivers, lol @ just hopping in a seat and steering a car round a track....

I've thrown a deer spear a few times, wasn't too good at it. My friend is an outdoors type and he hunts deer. His progression so far was rifle-> compound bow -> long bow and now he's practicing with the spear.

I think he's nuts, but once he gets one with the spear he's going to try just him and a bowie.

Nutter.
