not entirely true. it currently downmixes to either stereo, or pipes DTS.
no dolby yet.. the fact that it says 'Beta' in the menu is shocking.

kotaku mentioned something about unchecking that box to make it work, or something like that.

While the system itself isn't region locked, meaning you can buy one and it'll work anywhere, the voice commands are.
So getting an XB1 in France forces you to either learn the commands in French or miss out. You can change everything to your desired language. Except for the voice commands.

I'm not getting a French XB1. But this will also mean my potential future XB1 will only accept Dutch voice commands. fuck that, I hate anything computer related in Dutch. Why don't they just ship the English voice software with all units with the option to download your own language, much like how phones do it?

Christ I think your right, if I bought a french one and took it home I'd have to speak French to it.

Pretty fucking daft. I couldn't find anything solid but if it's linked to your live account (which I thought it would be) you could try setting up a yank account or migrating to an American account. It does look like a hardware lock though and sounds like MS making more work for themselves.
