I can't get enough of this game.

tnf, as for the storyline, I'm not going to fast. I'm trying to mix it up and do a bit of everything. I'm about 22% complete and have played a ton.

I haven't really played with the phone numbers much. I dialed 911 and found out you can call the cops or fire department if you need em. Pretty cool...

i've been taking my time. you don't have to worry about the cab missions as they don't contribute to the % completion of the game....which you'll understand why as soon as you get to the second safehouse.

i think i've spent more time on the side missions than the main storyline so i'm not very far into the game. i have yet to unlock the second island. i've been spending time building up friendships and also just wandering around. i've found about 6 flying rats. they're easiest to find at night as they glow orange like weapon pickups.

Has anyone climbed to the top of that lookout tower thing in the northern part of the first island (by the park and tennis courts sort of...they are big tall towers with flat circular tops). Long long ladder climb but you can see the whole city up there. Cool stuff. I jumped from the top on accident trying to stand on the ledge of the fence.

I suck horribly at the driving in this game. I've been trying the first mission for brucie 3 times or something now and each time he gets away because I end up crashing my car before stopping him. And I empty 300 or so bullets from the uzi on his car in the process.
If you chase guys indefinitely will they all end up getting out and going on foot eventually or does the chase just go on and on?

I took a helicopter up to the second tallest building... you can find choppers all the way south on the center island on the pier, there are 3 choppers all of them give you tours. Just steal one and fly around.

Your understanding is made irrelevant a bit further in the game. :)

andyman got up to the top of that and shot rockets at me while we were in free mode. I managed to dodge out of the way while LMAO over the headset. He lost interest in me and I snuck up the tower and mowed him down with the SMG and his body fell off the tower. Gold. :olo:

A while after that MKJ got up the same tower and rtied to shoot someone with a rocket, but hit the floor and blew his ass up. I saw it in the distance. Free Mode is awesome. :smirk:

I've found that several (all so far) of the missions where you have to chase someone involve a scripted stop where they get out on foot. At lease a few involve invincible cars that you can NOT stop and just have to chase after.

Slow down before turns instead of power sliding into them, as the hand brake is very loose and regaining traction takes forever. Instead, try taking turns tapping A and LT at low speeds. Let off the gas, and a car length from the turn tap A so you're sliding straight. Once you enter the turn, swing the car around and use LT to prevent yourself from spinning around too far. Once your car has slowed its sliding enough, floor it.

I've seen JNS and you online playing it, but never when I was available. At some point you two, andyman, MKJ, Fury and I could get a nice series of games going. Complete mayhem in FFA mode. :D

I did the drunk driving mission the other night. Tough because I was doing my usual thing of falling asleep at the controls since it was about 11:00pm and that is generally when I start crapping out (if not earlier) because I get up so fucking early. Falling asleep while trying to control that car is tough.
