I actually think that servers for a site this broad and global isnt really a good idea. Ive only been here for a few months and ive known people from Lithuania, America, Australia, all across Europe, pretty much over the globe. The server that this site will host will most definetely be an American one.

If there are servers for things other than FFA, CTF and TDM for example, then people will be dropping out half way through games, and lagging all across the maps and generally making things hard. With FFA, it doesnt really matter as much.

I suggest a FFA server with an unlimited frag limit and say twenty minute time limit

You should post a thread in GD -- I didn't know about the server until you linked to this in the tower thread in GD.

It's true that not many people here play Q3 anymore -- but there are still a few who wouldn't mind playing a game with the old gang again. Clan Arena's a blast for that type of game.

Yes, there are usually enough people to get a 2v2 TDM going during the weekdays. Just show up around 8 P.M CST and there should be a few of us on.

Well OSP has "merged" with CPMA and is known as CPMA VQ3. OSP support has been dead for a long time now and CPMA is being updated quite often (last release was 12.19.06). Give it a try! I think you'll like it.

im a CPM fanboy myself. My affection for VQ3 far died a while back when CPMA 1.35 came out.

I have it installed and I sometimes play ctf on eQuality, but there are still many good servers still using osp or baseq3...there are good players everywhere scattered like a bunch of llamas waiting to get destroyed

I use gamespy to see who's playing where and I usually go from there. I think the names matter more than the mod version.

The only reason I picked CPMA for the server is because it is still being supported. I'm not trying to play favorites or anything. I've sure played a lot more OSP than I have CPMA.

needless to say, if the Promode team also released a .pk3 for OSP, it would be played a lot more. But i dont see what could posssibly be improved over what is surrently in CPMA

The server default is pro-q3dm6 the other maps have to be voted on. Those three maps I have in the OP were pretty popular on axbaby's server which I why I included them. :icon17:
