Quake 3 1.32c (addresses two critical security vulnerabilites) [ Windows | Linux | OSX ]
NOTE: Install 1.32 before 1.32c:

MOD REQUIREMENTS:

We run the latest version of: Challenge ProMode Arena
You must also have the: CPMA Map Collection (CPMA WILL NOT RUN WITHOUT THESE!)

PUNKBUSTER IS REQUIRED:

Server has PunkBuster enabled. You must have it installed, updated & enabled before joining the server!

PBSETUP (PunkBuster update GUI, download to & run from your pb directory. e.g. "C:\Quake III Arena\pb\") [ Windows | Linux | OSX ] (Thanks riddla!)

CUSTOM MAPS:

Here are some custom maps that are the most played at the moment:

That sounds like an interesting idea. Did you used to play on the axbaby/wabbit server? I don't remember you by that name. I'm not sure how popular such a server would be at this point though. Let's see what others have to say about this (someone will link you to those maps too, probably pm).

Yeah, I used to play up there under a different handle. :P Well it's running right now hasn't seen but 4 players all day. I hope it does gain popularity though so we can get some 24 player games going. I hope somebody has those maps. I've searched Google and this forum and can't find them. The only custom map up there ATM is 6++. If anybody remembers some of the popular maps that were on the old server please feel free to link them. I remember Overkill, 6++ and axbaby's maps.

Well that was a blast back in time. ( well not that long ago ) Hehe.

• I had to download the latest CPMA 1.40 no maps.
  
• CPMA 1.40NOMAPS Size (7.7 MB)
  
  Then I needed the CPMA maps.
  
• CPMA Complete Map Collection Size (116.87 MB)

Just got done with a few rounds of my ass handed to me.
Fun though as always. Lol.

Server feels nice. You'll have to see how it feels with more players.

Thanks for uploading those maps PieceMaker! Yeah, I will definetly be keeping an eye out for server performance. Hope to see more of you on the server as well as other Q3W members.

I've uploaded all of those maps except for 3 of them: q3r1, crossroads and mrd3tourney1v2. Thanks for the advice dzjepp! I think I'll wait another week before I do that though to make sure everything is running right.

Well I've been reading these boards since 2k and I can only remember there ever being two servers at the most (I may be wrong). One that VE
donated the other one which I played on a lot axbaby's. If Q3W had as many servers as you suggest I don't think they would get put to very much use nowadays. It's hard enough getting anybody to show up to play on this one.

BTW, anybody looking to play a game should show up around 9 pm EST. For the last couple of nights three friends and I have been playing a couple games to see if anybody shows up. No luck yet except for PieceMaker.

Well I think you're wrong, because 90% of the people on this board don't play quake anymore. It will be a challenge just getting one server filled up, believe me.

There just isn't enough people on this forum playing Q3 to fill even
the one server KYD is offering. Most of us are here because we
started in this forum lurking or ranting in one way or another. We made
friends along the way in playing Q3 and playing other games that
forum members offered to the users of this forum, to call a home.

It's just experience in the replies you're getting is all, not stupidity.

you probably need to advertise, raise some interest, revive Quake 3 from the ashes, amidst the smoldering remains of UT2K4 and Red Faction and the like.

Im not suggesting that all of these servers be launched straight away, but start off with two or three, a duel server, a CTF server and a TDM server. Let it snowball.
