Since you're talking about cooking, I'll add, make sure you use fresh spices. Most supermarket spices are shit to begin with. What the fuck did you expect? I eat nothing at all? I've taken several courses at the Institute of Culinary Education in Manhatten and like to cook whole foods that are actually good for you. Again, ad naseum, I'm not overweight.

Well, the mystery pepper's seeds are growing big and strong now. I have 17 of the plants growing in dixie cups.
Serranos and Anaheims have sprouted and are just now coming through the dirt in the cups.
Jalapenos never sprouted in the ziploc bag. Using Tupperware got them to sprout in 2 days and they're ready for planting.
All in all I think I have about 30 plants not counting the ones I didn't feel like putting in individual cups so I just put them in the planter box. Counting those about 50 plants are growing.

Because I know how concerned everybody here was with those pepper plants, I thought I'd write a little update...
Almost all of them died. One of the "mystery" pepper plants lives on but I never moved it to a larger pot so it became some funky ass bonsai pepper tree.
Anaheims, Jalapenos, and Serranos are strong and healthy. They've started blooming a week ago and the Jalapenos actually have fruit
I think it's a bit too late to try cross-pollinating the Anaheims w/ the Jalapenos though =\ maybe next year.

I now have 3 pequin plants. They are very easy to grow. I actually have been mowing right over mine for a couple of years before I took notice that they were there. Next year I'll plant some Habaneros, Jalapenos, and Serranos.
